Once again… bigger skyshows require BIGGER panoramic photos!!!

Another beautiful morning. Still a little cooler & breezy… ideal. The waves are still there, but not quite so much crashing ashore! Beautiful clouds for a dramatic morning skyshow!

Last week I subbed for a Thursday night class… and they asked me to show them how to do stamping. I said we should start at the beginning. So I taught them how to make their own stamps. I bisque fired them… and then I subbed again last night and we did some stamping demos on actual pieces. I think they liked the demo… and now they have some handmade stamps of their own.

In the meantime, I made a small batch of new stamps as well. Now it looks like I need to make some new mugs. I mean… the holidays are coming sooner than you think!!!

Some more pretty flowers just down the street. Every year these stargazer lilies start to bloom… and I’m reminded that I’ve wanted to add these to my garden too. But at this point in the summer… it’s a bit too late to get them planted!!! Maybe next year?…

Another cool morning along the lake. Another morning with wind & splashing waves. Not much of a sunrise view as we are being “infiltrated” by some wildfire smoke blowing in thanks to our northern neighbors in Canada. Hard to believe it’s already August… where did the time go???

With yesterday’s Farmers Market…
I came home with some sweet little fresh apricots.
Luckily I have a cute little carved bowl perfect for them!

Mental note to self… Yummy, but I think I prefer my apricots dried!

So excited for my first dahlia of the summer!!! I got the tubers in the ground a little later than normal… and didn’t pre-start them inside either. So I think we’re a little behind… but worth the wait. Hopefully a lot more flowers to come!!!

With crazy cool winds coming in off the lake, the waves were churning & splashing. Waves everywhere!!! Winds blowing the cooler temps… almost a bit chilly. Especially when my timing was off… and I got a bit of a misty spray in the face!

It was a very productive evening in the studio. Lots of stamping, trimming & finishing. I had a lot of oval vases, class demo bowls & summer camp demos to attend to. Luckily, I got them all done… and now they’re drying!

Finishing up a batch of large oval vases. Just adding some accents of colored flashing slip in the stamped textures. The colors will show up better after soda-firing… this slip should turn orange!!!
