Just a little snack before teaching class tonight… you know how I love a good holiday!
Just celebrating NATIONAL GUACAMOLE DAY… yum!!!
Also finished off another batch of wheelthrown holiday ornaments. Getting ready for a bisque firing… then into a soda kiln for the final firing. New ornaments & holidays coming soon… sooner than you think!!!
Making some “kiln filler” mini vases for an upcoming soda kiln.
Just finished trimming & painting with colored flashing slip accents!
With a bit of “wildfire” haze & a low-flying “marine layer” the sunrise changed colors nicely this morning… but the actual sunrise was delayed for quite awhile. And I was already home by then… mwah, mwah, mwah…
As the sunrise time keeps getting later & later… it seems like my morning ride just keeps getting darker & darker?! With a lot of darkness for the first half of my ride… and hopefully a good sunrise at the end of my daily route.
Another warm morning for a beautiful Friday the 13th… nothing to be scared of here!!!
Plenty of clouds with plenty of color. Just how I like it… colorful & dramatic!
And while I was already throwing off-the-hump… I decided I should make another batch of mini’s while I was at it. I mean, who doesn’t want more cutie-patooties?!
So a customer contacted me just to ask if I would have ornaments again this year… the “top-shaped ones”! Of course I said “Yes”… but then realized I probably should make more before I commit?! So I did… another 10×10 Challenge! More than ten by 10:00am! Another productive morning!
This hasn’t happened for a LONG time… like when I started stamping.
But tonight I stamped some of the cylinders from Tuesday night’s class demo.
I could tell they were still far too wet… and I should wait another day or so.
But I didn’t listen to myself… and I ended up stamping right through the side of the cylinder!!!
Maybe good for a dribble glass???… or portion control… or most likely the reclaim bin!
It’s just clay!!! Listen to the clay next time… and wait…
A beautiful afternoon to be down by the lakefront. Enjoying the blue skies, the even bluer water & the historic landmark Chicago Harbor Lighthouse. Just off the end of Navy Pier, this lighthouse was built in 1893… but then somehow moved & “relocated” in 1919. Just wondering… how does one “move” a lighthouse?!!!
