My friends Keith & Julie recently moved for central Illinois to Ohio… and it looks like they finally got around to unboxing some of their pottery collection! What better way to “feel at home” than with a freshly-baked pineapple upside-down cake, fresh-cut roses from the garden & the warmth of a candle… and some of my stamped pottery to pull it all together!

Looks my cousin David’s anthurium is enjoying its new home in a pretty stamped & purple flower pot! David surprised me at ART IN THE GARDEN by coming to the show with his Mom & Sister… my Aunt Marilyn & cousin Kim… even though he lives in Ohio!!! SURPRISE!!!

Another morning ride surrounded by crazy-cool splashing waves everywhere. I love when the morning sun catches the wave just right and kinda “illuminates” the splash!!! Timing is everything!!!

Well, it’s the second day of October and the “GHOULS” are coming out in full force! My friend Nancy has a great collection started… but she is missing a few of my Limited Edition Ghouls. But if you look closely, she’s also “filled it in” a bit more with a new Ghoul made by her daughter Lydia!!! So cute… and so glad that she’s now part of the ever-growing Ghouls Collection!

Looks like Rhonda’s little puppy is going to be enjoying his food & water more than normal these days… with a set of custom dog food bowls. He’s got four of them… some even if two are in the dishwasher, he can still eat & drink in style!

Huge gusting winds blowing in off the lake this morning. Crazy cool waves splashing all around. Not much in the way of sunrise colors… but the waves & the gusts made it extra fun this morning!

After a crazy flurry of pottery & Pirate production in my studio lately… it was a MESS!!! It felt great to do a little cleaning & re-organizing today. Including pulling out a new batch of reclaimed clay. This time a large pile of porcelain that I received dry in bags from a friend who doesn’t like to reclaim her own clay. So I do the labor… and I get a pile of FREE PORCELAIN!!!

It’s October 1st… and here’s the FIRST of the Pirates popping out to say hello! Looks like he’s made himself right at home in Beth’s cabinet… right next to her favorite berry bowl!

Just doing a little trimming working on some of this week’s class demo pieces! Sure, I make them in class, but find I need to finish them up in my studio before the next class so they don’t dry out too fast over the week. So I spent some time tonight trimming a few pots… always more fun with my DiamondCore Trimming Tools!!!

Katherine came to ART IN THE BARN this past weekend and purchased an ikebana vase in my booth. Then she was “inspired” to make her first ikebana flower arrangement using flowers from her own backyard garden. So beautiful… now I kinda want to see her whole garden?! Nicely done Katherine!!!
