Just a few of my newest “hybrid” mugs fresh out of the soda kiln! Celebrating a little Texture Tuesday with these fun patterns created with hand rollers from MKM Pottery Tools. My “hybrid” mugs are a combination of wheelthrown & handbuilt parts & pieces… my newest obsession in mug-making!!!
THE SEARCH IS ON!!! Looks like the next new flavor of OREO’s has been announced. We all know I have the palate of a four-year old… so I’m ready for these!!! Now we just need to find them!!!
Soda-fired & highlighted in all the right places. Love how the unglazed surface caught the soda to create these details & highlights on this “hybrid” mug during my recent soda-firing!
Late night pear tree blooms in the evening glow of a streetlight… as I drive home from the studio after teaching class tonight. Quiet evening serenity & natural beauty.
Another serving bowl… Stamped. Spiraled. Soda-fired.
Celebrating a little MUGSHOT MONDAY with a pair of new “hybrid” mugs fresh out of my latest soda kiln. Loving this new texture from MKM Pottery Tools … and how the soda-firing process creates great colors & accents on the unglazed exterior!
Looks Rosene has been celebrating NATIONAL ORCHID DAY as well… with her stunning yellow orchid in full bloom! Beautiful flowers and possibly the healthiest leaves & roots I’ve ever seen on an orchid plant. Must have something to do with the handmade flower pot??? Just sayin’…
So there they are… some of my orchids that are blooming “right on schedule” to celebrate NATIONAL ORCHID DAY today. There are several more though that are several weeks behind… and these might not bloom for quite awhile… spreading out my ongoing orchid enjoyment!
Vibrant magenta orchid blossoms playing in the sunlight… creating some fun shadows when lit from behind. Perfect for celebrating NATIONAL ORCHID DAY today… loving that so many of orchids are re-blooming in my dining room right now!
