So many colors. So many textures. So many patterns! Loving all of these different coleus plants that my Peoria friend Rosene has been propagating in her basement. She’s already working on next’s year’s crop… some of which might just make it up to live on my front porch next summer?!!!

Side-by-side.
Half-and-half.
Stamped-not stamped.

After Tuesday’s class demo, I now find that I have a table full of not-so-basic bowls.
But you know my motto… MORE IS MORE.
So why not do a little more stamping & detailing?! So I did…

And for now they’re all stamped & detailed…
and going back under wraps so I can come back tomorrow to trim them all!

Trying to make a good impression… by doing a bit of stamping on these “soon-to-be-mugs” before going down to teach class tonight.

Today started as a beautiful Fall day. Crisp & sunny.
But then the clouds moved in… at least the Fall colors & textures remained.

Still glazing, still wiping. I like to fill all of my stamped impressions with a darker glaze (like tenmoku) to help accentuate the textures & patterns when I’m glazing for the soda kiln. So I paint them all in with a layer of glaze, and then wipe away the top surface to reveal the pattern accentuated by the inlaid glaze.

Loving the intricate woven texture & pattern of these nautical ropes!

Literally “threw together” a couple last-minute masks for this weekend’s soda kiln firing… they make me smile while still racing towards my deadline!

With ART IN THE GARDEN in just a few days… looks like Cory is racing to the Finish Line… and making sure that all of her collaboration pieces make it into that one last kiln that comes out “just in time” for the art fair this weekend!!! I see color… and texture… and whimsy… three of my favorite things!!! Can’t wait to see the finished pieces when mine get added into the mix this Saturday & Sunday in Glenview, Illinois!!!
