Okay, so by now you know that I’m addicted to “LOST”…
but my other “Island Addiction” is the reality show “SURVIVOR.” I have been a HUGE fan
since the very beginning – when they kicked them off the boat and made them swim to shore.
And last night was the finale of the twentieth season – celebrated with an all-star reunion
of Heroes vs. Villains. It was another great season, with great characters, great twists
and great people doing stupid things!!!
Congratulations to the Top Three, left to right below.. Sandra, Parvati and Russell.
Although I won nothing in my own “Survivor Pool”… it’s still a lot more fun watching
Reality TV when they’re money riding on it!
In third place, the self-proclaimed biggest “Survivor” Villain of all time… Russell.
He is the most conniving & manipulative player ever; who always thinks he’s in charge –
all the way up to the final Tribal Council. But how ironic, that the guy who thinks
he’s the best player ever – got ZERO votes in the end!
And then there’s Parvati… my favorite! She’s the one who has been “on the Island”
the most, with well over 100 episodes and three seasons of “Survivor.” She was my
“gut choice” to win, but of course I overthought the game. Thinking that they would never
let a strong, competitive, previous winner get to the finish line again. But here she is –
still strong and coming in second!
And the winner… Sandra, who flew under the radar a bit, frequently scheming but never
too aggressive. She’s never won a challenge, but now has won the game of “Survivor” twice!
I’m not too excited about her win… I do like her wit & sarcasm… but I’m just more excited
that Russell didn’t win! He’s an idiot…
Next season, the “Survivor” castaways will be going off to Nicaragua!
The Best Show On Television… Ever! Sadly, coming to an end all too soon!
We’ve loved the characters, hated some of them, hypothesized, theorized and criticized!
And as it comes closer to the end, there are still a LOT of questions to be answered.
Last night’s episode was “supposed” to explain everything about Jacob, Anti-Jacob,
the “Rules” and quite possibly even “The Island” itself. I feel like it told us some of the
story, but never fully wrapped it up. I was a little disappointed I must say.
Luckily, we still have one more episode, plus a BIG finale night on Sunday, May 23rd.
Starting with a one-hour “LOST” recap… “Previously, on LOST…”
Followed by a two-and-a-half hour final episode to “answer” ALL of the questions?!!!
Then… and oh, but wait there’s more, a cast reunion on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
So?… any theories out there?!
Who’s good? Who’s bad? Will there be a happy ending? What the heck is going on?
We already know that some of our favorites are not going to survive… as some
are already gone! Or are they?! And what’s with “Sideways World” anyways?
I know I have my theories… and I’d LOVE to hear yours!
So there’s the topic, now discuss amongst yourselves… and post them as a comment.
If this is a preview of what it’s going to be like without “LOST” on TV…
I don’t like it.
With only five more hours left of my favorite show on television EVER…
it’s going to be weird not having our favorite island mysteries to be solving any more.
And let me just say… there are still a LOT of unsolved questions to be resolved.
Piecing together the snippets, clues, Easter Eggs and other clues. Over-analyzing!!
Hypothesizing how it’s all going to end. Trying to figure out what the heck is going on?!
Who’s good? Who’s evil. Who will survive till the end? Will anyone make it off the Island
and live “happily ever after”? 4 – 8 – 15 – 16 – 23 – 42…
Just when you thought you “knew” what was going on…
Looks like some of our favorites might be making a return from the dead?!
Claire. Charlie. Shannon. Michael. Ana Lucia. Mr. Eko. John. Libby. Boone.
And what about “blown-to-smitherines” Arzt???… will he be “put back together” again?
(Sadly, I don’t see my favorite, and presumably also exploded, Juliet in the picture?!)
But does that also mean that all of “The Others” who died might be back too?!
Mikhail. Goodwin. Ethan. Mr. Friendly. Ms. Klugh… and ultimately, Jacob???
Another great (and sadly final) season of “LOST” begins tonight with three hours of fun!
Here’s to hoping we get a few answers this season.. and that some of my “predictions”
turn out to be correct… and that we might FINALLY get see more about Libby’s backstory!
Just when she was getting interesting… she’s killed & off the show!!!
But now she might be back?!
So I was just adding some dates to my calendar… classes… art fairs… deadlines…
and just realized that the much-discussed & President-bumping premiere
of “LOST” Season Six is on Tuesday, February 2nd… February second…
which is also Groundhog’s Day!!!
Have you seen the movie?!
The one with Bill Murray where he keeps waking up at the same time & same day
and it is Groundhog’s Day over… and over… and over again. Things keep repeating.
Slight changes have huge impact on the outcome of his day… the same day!
Over… and over… and over again! Like his personal “time continuum” is skipping
like a record…Â hmmm…. sound familiar here?
Coincidence?…Â I doubt it.
Nothing is a coincidence with these people.
Okay… so many of you by now know that I lead a very simple life.
I don’t read the newspaper. I don’t watch the news. I don’t do politics, sports or religion.
But when it starts to interfere with my TV obsessions… watch out!!!
So when “word on the street” started up and they were saying that Obama’s speech
might interfere with the 3-hour premiere night of fun of the final season of “LOST”…
I was a bit concerned. And so were many other “LOST” fans… so now the next installment…
According to “The Huffington Post”…
forwarded by my friend & fellow “LOST” fan Emily…
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was coy on Friday when it came to offering
a date for the President to deliver the upcoming State of the Union Address. He deflected
questions as to whether the speech before a bicameral gathering of Congress would take
place in January or February and only smiled suggestively when asked whether President
Obama was waiting until health care reform was passed first.
But the press secretary did rule out one possible SOTU date — much to the delight of a
major television network. The speech, Gibbs said, would not take place on the same night
as the three-hour premiere of the final season of ABC’s “Lost”.
“I don’t foresee a scenario in which millions people who hope to finally get some
conclusion with ‘Lost’ are pre-empted by the President,” he said. “You can quote
a senior administration official.”
That response came to a question poised by a noticeably anxious ABC Radio’s
Ann Compton. But — in a reflection of just how freaked out the network is about
a SOTU-“Lost” duel — it didn’t put an end to the concerns.
Towards the end of the briefing, an AP radio reporter asked “on Ann’s behalf” whether
February 2 (the date of the premiere) “was definitely not it for the State of the Union address?”
Gibbs confirmed that to be true, while expressing his “love that all of the sudden ABC [news]
is asking on behalf of ABC [the network].”
At which point a third ABC reporter, White House correspondent Jake Tapper,
chimed in: “How about on behalf of the Dharma Initiative.”
Today’s score?…Â Â Obama: Zero… “The Others”: One
And that’s just a little too close to tap-dancing on the politics line for me! Whew…
So while the TV networks deal with those yahoos in Washington
about the schedule for the State Of The Union Address…
another one of my favorite shows announced its cast for the 20th anniversary edition
of Survivor. And this time the two tribes will be divided by “Heroes vs. Villains.”
Which is pretty easy to do… since all the players this season being returning castaways!
We’ve seen all of them before. We know how they play the game. We know their strengths.
We know their weaknesses. But how will they need to “change their game”
to keep the others off guard and make it to the end?!
Mark your calendars… Survivor Heroes vs. Villains premieres on Thursday, February 11th.
Unless some political muckity-muck decides to spout off again?!…
