Clouds today, but yesterday… beautiful pastoral colors, gentle reflections & hazy fog layers blowing through the City yesterday morning. Two different mornings, two different rides. Either way, it’s always the best way to start the day!
After a fun morning of Summer Camp yesterday, I zipped over to Six Flags Great America for a fun outing with my sister Jen, niece Taylor and cousin Kim… the “Fun-Foursome” with our Season Passes!!! It started out a little cloudy, but that soon passed and it became a beautiful evening playing in the park, zooming on the coasters & eating some great “park food”!!!
After touring the farm and chatting with friends, we decided to head out for dinner… to where else?... a Wisconsin Supper Club. Well, kind of a bar… kind of a restaurant... definitely in the middle of nowhere! But gorgeous!!!
As we’re siting at our table, it was tough to focus on the menu as the sunset just kept getting better & better. So glad we figured out how to get here with the GPS… I just hope we can figure out how to get back home to the farm when it’s pitch black out there?!!!
Okay, one more thing… For some strange reason, the ceiling fo the restaurant was covered with dollar bills stapled cverywhere. No reason. No explanation. And I kinda liked that. Sure we could have asked… but it was kind of more fun to keep it a mystery!
Okay, so I always hate to post too much while I’m out-of-town away from my place. So I wait until I get back to post… but sometimes life gets in the way, and those posts just get put-off & put-off… and soon enough, it’s almost a week later?!!! Or in this case, a FULL MONTH later!!! Oh well… still had fun, still have photos & still have stories to share!
So I drove up to Minneapolis on Wednesday 3/27 after a full day of work.
It was a long drive by myself, but a lot of “pretty” along the way! Always nice to be treated
to a nice sunset as you’re driving… and taking a few photos along the way!
And then the sun went down, and I still had a couple hours to go…
with nothing fun or beautiful to watch along the way.
Luckily I found a little sumthin’-sumthin’ that helped pass the time!
A beautiful night out in Elgin visiting my parents. I got out there just in time
for a quick walk over to the lake for a sliver of sunset beauty…
and no buildings blocking it like back in the City!
Tall grasses by the lake after a long Winter.
Wispy seed pods being released.
Shaggy layers of birch paper peeling right off the tree.
And a beautiful sunset over a small lake near my parents’ house… we got there just in time!
So nice to finally see the sun today. Even better to see a beautiful sunset…
and seeing that it is staying lighter a little bit later every day!!!
Pretty fun to see the edge of Lake Michigan where it meets the City…
I’ve seen it SO many times from the ground on my bike, but not very often
from this perspective! Albeit a bit of a slushy looking perspective?!
It kind of amazes me every time how the “weather” appears to change so drastically
when you finally get up above the clouds! Gray & gloomy below…
and a beautiful sunset happening up above!!!
Now just a few more hours of flying in night time darkness!
On the tarmac with fair skies and beautiful clouds. Looks like we might have a great flight.
