Another chilly morning with strong headwinds for the first half of my ride. Lots of clouds blowing through without much chance of an actual sunrise. You can almost see how cold it is in the photos!

Another chilly morning with strong headwinds for the first half of my ride. Lots of clouds blowing through without much chance of an actual sunrise. You can almost see how cold it is in the photos!

Chilly start to a beautiful clear morning.
Great start to another week with another sunrise bike ride.

Sure, I’ve been incredibly BUSY!!!
But never too busy to squeeze in another beautiful morning sunrise ride.
Sure it was a bit chilly, and even more windy, but that sliver of sun was pretty sweet
against the dark clouded sky.

After a long day of soda-firing yesterday, it felt great to be out on my bike for a crisp & chilly sunrise ride this morning. More layers, wool socks & gloves and you’re ready to go!

As the sunrise continues to get later & later in the morning, my ride just seems to be getting darker & darker. More time riding in the darkness with some color finally showing towards the end of my ride. Today it was sun versus clouds blowing in. Guess who won.

Dramatic clouds sweeping the horizon.
Perfect for a panoramic photo or two!

Another unseasonable perfect sunrise bike ride with a full range of colors!!! Loving this “extension of Summer”… for the rain moves in tonight and the temps are expected to fall back to “normal” Fall weather.

So not every sunrise is stellar. Some are just too cloudy. But when you’re riding the first fifteen miles or so in complete darkness, you don’t really notice how cloudy it is!!!

And then this happened…

Hard to believe it is already October?! How did that happen so fast? I still like to “think” that it’s Summer… but the cold weather & strong winds definitely say Fall.

A windy morning provided some gusty fun along the lakefront. Waves were crashing up over the shoreline. Wind whipping every which way. Seemed like it was “always” A headwind!!! But still, a beautiful ride with some nice photo-ops down on Chicago’s Navy Pier.

My chariot awaits…. ready for a very windy ride home with the flags flying horizintally!
