It was SO pretty yesterday morning, that I thought I’d repeat again today as it was another morning with not a single cloud in the sky!!! But there are some new tents being built down on North Avenue Beach for this weekend’s POLAR PLUNGE. And no, for the record, I will NOT be plunging! I may be crazy, but…

Clear skies. Clear sailing… err, well, clear biking.
Another beautiful sunrise bike ride without a cloud in the sky!…
and a small glimmer of hope that just maybe Winter is done wreaking havoc on us?

So have you noticed how the days are getting longer?…
the mornings are earlier and the nighttime is later?

Sure we may still have Winter around for awhile… but there’s a glimmer of hope and a beautiful sunrise always makes it better!

After yesterday’s spectacular “surprise” sunrise, this morning was still warm but looked a lot more like Winter. Gray & gloomy before the afternoon sun. The lake may have thawed, but there are still a few “icebergs & glaciers” lingering around the edges.

And yes, sure it was warmer than a normal January day… but methinks some of these folks have taken it a bit too far?! Yes, those are indeed people going for a swim in Lake Michigan this morning. Sure, wetsuits help a bit… but one of them was sleeveless too!!!

And another large “glacier” perched on the pier of the Foster Beach lighthouse. A little “dirty” around the edges because of all the layers of sand from the beach mixed in with the ice & snow.

Warmer than yesterday with just a few clouds on the horizon. We’re thawed and a lot drier… making it also “safer” for early morning pedaling. So great to squeeze in a sunrise ride in January!!!

With a bit of a wind, this morning was easy, breezy, beautiful…

Today was warmer… but still gray, gloomy, rainy & foggy. Not at all pretty. So maybe it’s a great chance for a sunrise flashback to one I never quite had time to post last September.

So here it is… the morning sunrise I’m jonesin’ for now in the middle of Winter!!!
Ahhh, warmer days…

Another gray morning along the lake. A nice ride, but always questioning if that “shine” on the bike trail is frozen or just a puddle?! Pedal safe… and now I guess I should consider wrapping a few presents, huh???

With one large cloud blowing in from the north, it was a question
whether we would see a sunrise before the clouds won out.
And indeed we got a beautiful “colored-cloud sky show” just in the nick of time!
