With a bit of a chill in the air, and a lot of layered low-flying clouds, it was a windy ride without that spectacular sunrise I as hoping for. Not a good sign as the mornings are getting later & colder… sadly, Summer is over!!!

After a long weekend in The Barn, it felt so good to be back out on my bike along the lakefront this morning. Sure, some of the bike path is still missing due to trail construction… but with views & waves like this I’ll pretty much put up with anything!

Just taking a quick break to share some photos from this morning’s sweaty bike ride.
Yes, it was warm & humid from the git-go! Even with a strong headwind,
the sweat was inevitable… well worth it for the gorgeous sunrise views!

After yesterday’s 100-mile Century bike ride up to Kenosha and back,
this morning’s ride was a quick ride in the park!!! Another warm morning…
you could feel the heat & humidity even this early!

Calm & serene with a bit of foggy mist hovering along the lakefront.
Cool & clammy all at the same time?! You can already feel a bit of Fall in the air.

Another perfectly quiet & serene morning along the lake… except for a brief interruption in the middle. Nothing like a helicopter looking like it’s doing a “water search & rescue” along the breakwater around Wilson Beach to shake-up your morning?!

Another beautiful morning. So quiet & relaxing….
now if they could just finish all of the construction where they tore out
the bike path pavement weeks ago!!!

After two days of crazy winds & amazing waves crashing around,
today was surprisingly calm & serene. What a difference a day makes!

Still windy, still crazy waves and still red flag warnings!!!
Another crazy bike ride along the lakefront. Waves crashing up over the edge, onto the bike trail. Impassable in many sections. Frequently getting sprayed by the waves… and drying off the camera lens in between shots. Not a lot of color in the sky… but PLENTY of excitement along the shoreline! Especially towards the end when the sun beams were hitting the crashing waves lighting them up to a glittering gold.

Trying to sneak in a quick bike ride before heading back to ART IN THE GARDEN Day Two. Not so excited to wake up to strong winds along the lake… just hoping it’s not that windy in Glenview! It was cool to see the waves crashing everywhere… I just don’t want my booth to be “crashing” too!
