Big sunrise sky-shows require big sunrise photos!!!
And this morning had one of them!!!

With a surprising start to a surprisingly nice day, it was good to see that sliver of sunrise color coming through before the sun went away behind the clouds. The forecast wasn’t so good for this weekend… but it looks like we’re off to a good start… with another BEAUTIFUL sunrise!!!

Yesterday morning was gray & dreary…
with a lot of misty fog hanging low along the lake. It wasn’t raining…
but I was SOAKED by the time I got home from my morning bike ride!

And yes, somewhere back there in the fog “should be” the Chicago Skyline!!!

Along with some overflowing lake edges… the water level should be about a foot below the cement edge.

Breezy, but beautiful. Another wonderful bike ride along the lakefront…
with some beaches that are still flooded, and the lifeguard chairs back in place
for the summer season!

Another cloudy morning bike ride without much chance for that beautiful sunrise…
but wait… there’s a small gap in the clouds… almost… almost…
and THERE IT IS!!!… and then it’s gone!

Another cloudy morning with a bit of a wind coming in from the west.
Watching flags fly as the sunrise tries its best to make it through the clouds
at the east end of Navy Pier.

Finally a morning without rain… sadly, almost without a sunrise too.
Cloudy, gray & breezy… with some beautifully flooded beaches along the way!

After a long weekend in Schaumburg “trapped” in my art fair booth, it sure felt good to get out on my bike again this morning. We had surprisingly great weather for the art fair, and it continued this morning… but it sounds like the storm is headed towards us later today. So enjoy it while you can, right?!!!

Big sky… big clouds… big photo…
and then the clouds opened up with sprinkles turning into legit rain!!!

A short morning ride with a beautifully dramatic sunrise… cloudy… breezy… and then the rain came in cutting my ride short with a few miles to pedal home in the rain!
