Well, it snowed yesterday in Chicago… so glad it’s all gone! Still a bit chilly, but another beautiful morning along the lakefront. A great way to start off a sunny Saturday in the City!

It was a warm & humid start this morning… with a large foggy marine layer hanging out over the lake. For the longest time, I was wondering if we were ever going to see the sunrise this morning?! Turns out we did!!!

Another chilly morning. Another cloudy sunrise. Another adventure headed north finding new beaches. Still the best way to start the morning!

Another gloomy start… with just the tiniest of little slivers of color way down south! Too bad the lakefront bike tail is closed, or maybe I would have pedaled in that direction to see a bit more of the color. But up north?… gloomy & gray!

Sure, they may close down the Lakefront Trail which is my usual sunrise bike route. But that doesn’t mean I can be creative and find other safe options & other sunrise routes! Windy, gusty & a little bit drizzly… but worth every moment.

Another solitary bike ride along the lakefront. Started with some beautiful colors, but eventually the clouds won-out and it looks like we’re going to be gray for the rest of the day! And sadly, there were a few more “danger signs” along the way… some of which I paid attention to, some not so much!

Sadly, as I was coming home from my ride… at the northern-most entrance to the lakefront trail at Ardmore… the police were there blocking the path with a large wood-slat winter fencing?! Uh oh… I’m guessing that after yesterday when the weather was gorgeous and the lakefront was flooded with far too many people… and far too many of then NOT social distancing… I’m guessing the lakefront is now CLOSED! So now I fear that we might all be punished by a few idiots that ruined it for the rest of us! I hope the lakefront is not closed for the foreseeable future. I think I need my bike & my sunrises for my own sanity!

It’s supposed to be a beautiful day today… and it’s off to a great start. A little bit foggy & frosty this morning as I head out for my sunrise bike ride. If you look closely, there’s a lighthouse or two in there somewhere… and a downtown skyline in there too… and a lot of sunrise beauty to start my day!

A little chillier than I expected, but still the best way to start the day. And at this time of the morning, on a breezy frozen lakefront… there was no worry of social distancing. I kinda had the whole place to myself!!!

So nice to get out for another beautiful sunrise… without all of the thick winter layers! Still several layers… don’t get me wrong… they’re just thinner now. Windbreaker instead of quilted. Still the best way to start my day!

Kicking off March with a wonderful morning bike ride! I had hoped for it to be a bit warmer… but I guess that will come later today?! They were predicting 50-degrees for today… but for the morning ride it was still a bit chilly & breezy… and beautiful!!!
