Big sky drama over the lake calls for a big panoramic photo! From the colorful clouds to the Chicago skyline off in the hazy distance.

Before the rain. Before the gray skies. Before the sunrise… I started pedaling early this morning. It was a nice morning with great clouds… and a TON of humidity! I was already sweating within the first five minutes on my bike! You could practically “feel” the rain storm moving in. But photos first… and miles to pedal… safely home with 15 minutes to spare! Whew!!!

A windy start… to another great morning with cloud-cover and a bit of sunshine making its way through. A shrouded sunrise & golden reflections… a perfect start despite the strong headwinds!

Lots of clouds, lots of potential. I was really hoping for some fun bright colors to splash across these clouds. But instead we just got drama… dark clouds, drama & wind… and a few sunbeams streaming through towards the end. Okay, I’ll take that!!!

Another quiet morning along the lake. Pedaling along enjoying the colored clouds floating along the horizon as the orange sun finally made its way through! Possibly for the last time today as more clouds were moving in to take over the day!

Not so glorious, not so glamorous… but cloudy at the beginning, and cloudy at the end. With gusts of wind from every direction. It was tough to tell if it was a tailwind, a headwind or some crazy side-wind swirling around you! Still the best way to start my day!

Another beautiful morning bike ride. Plenty of clouds for the sun to play with this morning… mostly wispy pastels, a moment of vivid pinks… followed by golden reflections!

In anticipation of the morning’s “event” I couldn’t get the Johnny Cash classic song out of my head! They told us we would have a “Ring Of Fire” solar eclipse this morning… which was cool… but the alignment was a bit more like a chomp bite out of a cookie!
