Dramatic clouds to start the morning… with a little “window” of opportunity. I kept hoping that the sunrise would align with that window… and it almost did!!! But not quite. Yet still a beautiful morning for a morning ride!!!

A pretty moody & dramatic morning along the lakefront. Beautiful saturated colors with golden reflections shimmering on the waves. A great way to start the morning before heading back to Schaumburg for Day Two of the PRAIRIE ARTS FESTIVAL. Yesterday was full of beautiful blue skies… this morning is starting with clouds, and the forecast seems to get worse throughout the day. Good thing pottery looks good when it’s wet… because it seems like we might be getting some rain later this afternoon. So come out to Schaumburg and say “Hi” if you see me hunkered down in my tent!!!
Plenty of clouds this morning… with high hopes for some wonderful sunrise potential. However… it dabbled with some color, but the clouds won out all too soon. A flash of color early on… and then pretty much gray the rest of the day!
An early sunrise start for an early morning roadtrip… headed down to Peoria for our PLANTS & POTTERY POP-UP SALE!!! Today & tomorrow in Bartonville… right next to Peoria! But close enough…
“On a clear day, rise and look around you.
And you’ll see who – just who you are.”
Today was one of those mornings…
where you could “see forever, and ever and ever… and evermore.”
The morning started with some dark & gloomy clouds. Thinking it could go either way… with lots of sunrise potential. Luckily, the sun made it through just enough to color the clouds… but never quite made a full morning appearance.
The clouds won!
With barely a cloud in the sky, it was a perfect morning to get out early & go for my morning ride. A slight layer of low-flying clouds on the horizon… but otherwise clear skies for days!!!
With a lot of cloud-cover this morning, we were sure making up for no clouds yesterday! There was a slight glimmer of colorful sunrise… great potential for a beautiful sunrise sky show. But to no avail… it lasted for about a minute before the clouds won out. Seemingly for the rest of the day, as we have a bit of rain later in the forecast.
They say “on a clear day you can see forever.”
Well, it was pretty clear this morning… not a cloud in the sky…
but I don’t think I could quite see “forever.” Dang.
