A clouded morning along the lake… with plenty of colorful drama as the sun continued to peek through & hide behind the clouds. It felt good to be out on the lakefront as the temperatures dropped a bit overnight… but the prediction is for the temps to go back up later today. Be prepared, stay safe, stay hydrated.

The morning started out a bit hazy, but with much better temperatures in the mid-70s… such a nice break from the overbearing heatwave. But you can definitely tell that the humidity & temps are both going to rise today to make it another steamy day… seems “perfect” for the official FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!

With today being a national holiday, I had a little extra time to pedal further this morning. So after the sunrise colors dissipated & the sun retreated behind the clouds, I continued south down to Promontory Point. It was then that the clouds lit up & splashed across the sky. Layers of puffy clouds… some light, some dark… creating dramatic contrast in the sky & on the water.

Another warm & steamy morning… with beautiful colors on the horizon. Sure, there was a good deal of cloud-cover too… but luckily, the sun had a few moments to play & intermingle with the clouds. Nice colors. Beautiful morning ride.

It’s gonna be another hot one! We had some beautiful clouds this morning. So it was a bit cooler & breezier to start the day. With no glaring sunshine to make it feel even hotter. But the prediction for today’s heat wave says otherwise… so hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Hot & sweaty… a bit of a hazy & humid morning. Not a good sign when it is already in the 80’s at sunrise?! Today is going to be a HOT one! Stay safe & stay hydrated! I went through two water bottles during my ride this morning… I drank one, and poured the other one over my head!!!

My first “free” Saturday in a MONTH!!! While I love doing art fairs, four in a row has been a bit exhausting. So it felt great this morning to get up and have a leisurely sunrise bike ride. Sure, the stunning sunrise colors weren’t too shabby either!!!

Low-flying clouds along the horizon… beautiful, but practically blocking the sunrise?! The wind was blowing, and I was afraid that that large cloud would move a smidge to the south and block it completely. Luckily, we had a brief moment of sunrise before heading back behind the clouds.

After a long weekend of pottery-fun… it was great to get back on my bike this morning for a relaxing sunrise ride. I’ve just made it through four art fairs in four weeks, so it felt great to get back to a bit of “normal” this morning… and “normal” was BEAUTIFUL!!!
