Could it be even better than yesterday?!… stunning colors yet again!
Crisp & cool… the morning started out with beautiful pastel pinks…

…which quickly turned to vibrant orange as the sun finally made its way over the clouds!
Love the sunbeams… and the perfect reflection in the water!

Now why couldn’t the lake have been this calm for the Triathlon?!!!

Let the pictures tell the story…

A stunning sunrise. Vibrant colors. Dramatic clouds. Spectacular.
So much so… that I got a little carried away taking almost a hundred pictures!
Then I was running late this morning… at least my priorities are in the RIGHT place!!!

A quiet morning, with a beautiful wisp of golden cloud across the sky!

Another beautiful morning of clear skies… and a chill in the air.
It may still be Summer, but the mornings have definitely had a Fall feeling to them.

After “missing” yesterday’s spectacular sunrise…
today I planned ahead and had my camera at the ready.
Okay, so I had to start my morning adventure a little earlier so that I would be
done with the swim portion prior to the sunrise! Just so I could take pictures!!!
And let me just say, it was dark! And this is what it looked like AFTER the first
8 miles of biking when I started swimming…

And then the sun started to brighten the sky…

As the sun continued to rise, the clouds lit up and the sky became magical.

Okay… so it was definitely worth getting up even earlier!
This morning was not too shabby.

The sunrise continues to get later & later in the morning… and yet somehow
my bike adventure seems to start earlier & earlier. How does that happen?!
I guess adding the swim into the middle of the morning ride will do that, huh?

However… the cloud cover was incredible again this morning. So dark & so dramatic.
And just a bit foreboding as the clouds seemed to take over the sky!

But then, about 20 minutes later, the clouds lit up… and I missed it.
It was spectacular… take my word for it.

The clouds first turned an incredible shady of red on the underside of the dark clouds.
And as the sun continued to rise, the red turned to pink, then orange, and finally a
sparkling golden yellow. And I missed it. Kinda.

I saw it… loved it… appreciated it…  but my camera is not waterproof…
and I couldn’t capture it in photos while I was swimming!
It was spectacular… and I missed it.

The morning started out quite dark… as usual, right?!
It’s always exciting when I make it to the lakefront and there’s so much “promise”
with all the clouds on the horizon. The promise of a beautiful sunrise to come…

But then as the sun began to rise, the cloud cover took on a beautiful blue shade
as the clouds spread across the sky.

As the sunrise continued, the clouds began to take on a rose-colored hue.
It’s always cool when the undersides of the clouds light up. Even though this moment
is so brief. Just a couple minutes and it’s all over!

But as the orange began to fade, the golden sun made its way up into the clouds
and the sky lit up the morning!

First… dark clouds, very early in the morning just a the sky begins to lighten.
With an incredible amount of spotted cloud cover “hovering” on the horizon.

Second… as the sun slowly rises somewhere over Michigan, the cloud layer changes slowly
to a beautiful shade of blue. With a beautiful orange ribbon lying low on the horizon.

Third... as the clouds lift, and the mass slowly breaks up in the sky, the sun begins
to peek out over the horizon way of fin the distance.

Fourth… and just when I thought the sunrise “magic” was over… the sun popped up
and the remaining clouds turned into a glittering shade of orange!

Fifth…
