Gary Jackson: Fire When Ready Pottery
A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play

You know the rest… and yes, I did get rained on. But not too much. Just enough
to make me turn around & head home. Luckily, the rain was after a gorgeous red sky sunrise!

After a few sprinkles of rain, the red sky dissipated as the sun continued to rise.
The clouds were still filling the sky to create a dramatic backdrop for my morning ride.

And then the sun finally made it over the horizon, and up behind some clouds. Creating dramatic
bursts of sun streaming through the sky. The rain was gone, but the clouds were still there!

While there are still far too many things on my “To Do” List for this weekend’s
art fair, I couldn’t resist… and just “had to” go for a bike ride this morning!

The morning sky was very rosy this morning with clouds on the horizon
that almost seemed to glow early on…

And then, as the sun finally made it over the horizon, the pink dissipated
and the clouds became dramatic wisps across the sky!

Another simple bike ride… with another simple sunrise!

After an incredible weekend of pottery fun, this morning it’s back to reality…
and back on my bike for another sunrise bike ride!

We’ve had quite a string of rainy mornings… and other mornings where I was “up too late”
in the studio glazing the night before. So it seems far too long since I’ve been able to get out
on my bike for a beautiful morning bike ride. It was great to be out riding again… beautiful.

So I just got home from a whirlwind trip to Dover, Delaware!
I had to go out there for meeting about an upcoming “glitter gig.”
We were there for just over 24 hours!

But it still counts in my “states I’ve been to” challenge.
My rule is that I have to actually sleep overnight in the state for it to count.
Only about ten more to go!

Sadly, I didn’t really catch too much of a sunrise this morning.
but I did love the early morning sun reflecting off the bleachers!

This morning was a bit windy. And chilly as the wind was coming from the north & off the lake.
And there was  bit of haze on the horizon which kept us from getting a clear & colorful sunrise.
A little confusing how there seemed to be no clouds in the sky, and yet it wasn’t clear?!

Flat Stanley’s second sunrise.. and it’s not much to speak of.

Kinda gray… kinda gloomy. Not so sunny this morning for Flat Stanley’s second bike ride.
And to make it even “better”… a little bit of drizzle as I was headed home!

Very quiet. Very chilly. Very orange… and another perfect sunrise for Flat Stanley!

And a little further down the path, Stanley got his first glance of the Big City…
