It’s just a short business trip to Dover, Delaware… but that’s no reason NOT to enjoy the morning sunrise. So I laced up my shoes and went out for another run this morning. A little bit earlier… and a little bit further… The sunrise was more dramatic today with more clouds in the sky. At one point, it almost looked like a forest fire on the horizon.

Cloudy grays. Spring leaves on the trees. And a bit of sunrise peeking through.

Later I was headed out through some of the local farm fields. The clouds were getting more & more dramatic. And I loved the silhouettes of the irrigation sprinklers out in the fields!

On the return run, the clouds were sun was hidden by the clouds as they splashed across the sky.

The clouds my have won out for the morning… but the Spring flowers were still in bloom. The dogwood trees were in full bloom in a couple different colors!

At the furthest point in my run, I stopped off at a local miniature horse farm. Yes… MINIATURE! These are not ponies… they are full-sized adult horses. About the size of a large German Shepherd. Crazy, huh?!

I may be in Delaware… and I may not have my bike with me this trip…. but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a beautiful Dover sunrise. A leisurely run this morning down country roads, past blooming trees and a quaint, old cemetery on the side of the road.

This morning I started with a ride along the lakefront as usual…
Beautiful sunrise… Nice colors… Great silhouettes.
But soon enough, I was going to be seeing the “sky” a whole lot closer!

It was hard to tell if they were coming or going. I could tell that it had rained overnight, but the clouds appeared to be a window of opportunity for a quick morning ride. Soon enough they were rolling in. Not quite sure if the sun would make it through or not. My ride home was getting cloudier… and grayer… Luckily, the sunrise did make an appearance… and then pretty much disappeared for the rest of the day!

A quiet morning with a cool breeze coming in off the lake.
Crashing waves & crisp colors.

A great way to start my day before I head off for a big production day in the studio! I’m just a week away from my next soda firing… so I think today might be my last day to work wet?!

Of course that doesn’t mean that I might not “need” to skip out for another afternoon ride at some point?! You know, while some clay stiffens up so I can continue to work on it tonight!!!

While I’ve been busy in the studio, I’m still trying to get out on my bike as much as possible. The weather has finally warmed up a bit, although this morning the sunrise was a no-show!!!

With wind from the south this morning, the first half of my ride was a bit chillier than I expected. The waves were crashing. The sky was cloudy. And the sunrise never “quite” made its way to spectacular. But the ride back home was pretty darn sweet!!!

Gotta love a good tailwind!

It was warmer this morning, with a bit of a “breeze” sweeping across the lakefront. I hope this good weather sticks around for awhile. I love wearing fewer layers in the morning… and I don’t want to have to put them back on again for several months!!!
