With a mandatory FIREFLY Safety & Operations Meeting scheduled for this morning at 7:00am, they were cramping my style!!! I had to be finished riding, be cleaned up and to the meeting an hour earlier than our normal start time. But never fear, I still squeezed in a good ride to the Leipsic River for a beautiful sunrise. Quite possibly the best yet since we’ve been in Dover?

And why is it that when you have a deadline, and need to back sooner than normal… that it has to be one of the most beautiful sunrises yet in Dover?! It was so hard to stop taking pictures as it just kept getting better & better.

Okay, sure, I may have still been sweating from the ride during the meeting, but hey, I still got in another great sunrise!!!

With a chill in the air, the morning ride was brisk & refreshing as the sun painted the sky with shades of orange. There’s lots of farms around the Dover area, so here’s my morning homage to all things agricultural.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday started misty and ended with thunderstorms. Today started with a wispy clouded sunrise over Pickering Beach – and turned out to be a PERFECT day!!! Warm sun & cool breezes… and practically no humidity!!!

This morning was very dark & foggy along the the Delaware coast. I pedaled through the morning mist to Port Mahon. Hoping for a glimmer of a sunrise… instead I just got gray skies… and wet.

Might be the same sun & the same sunrise, but it looks completely different out here over the Delaware Bay instead of Lake Michigan?!!!

It was quite humid & sweaty this morning… the clouded sunrise made it a wonderful ride!

Unfortunately, the clouds rolled in and covered the sky… and brought more humidity with ’em.

It was a pretty clear morning. Except for that one big cloud flying low on the horizon. Threatening the chance for the sun to peek through. Luckily it did. And now that that one big cloud has moved on, it looks like a beautiful clear day to pack & set up for this weekend’s Hinsdale Fine Arts Festival.

After yesterday’s “windy & sweaty” Century bike ride,
it felt great to get back out this morning to work the kinks out.

Not nearly as windy.
Not nearly as sweaty.
Not nearly as far.

It turned out to be a beautiful day… but it started off as a cloudy & foggy morning.
No sunrise to be seen. Just a skyline shrouded in clouds.

So instead of a beautiful sunrise photo shoot, I decided to pedal further than normal.
All the way down to the Museum of Science & Industry and back.

Great ride. Not a great sunrise.

Another dark morning along the lakefront.
Good thing we had a little “extra” light shining.

The lakefront was back to normal today. Beautiful sunrise. Quiet on the bike trail. No crazy “picnic crowd” wandering aimlessly all over the place oddly unaware of the traffic speeding past & around them on the bike trail… yes, BIKE trail!!! Good to have things back on track.
