As the sun continued to rise, a few wispy clouds flew into view just in time for a quick color change. Floating through the city and out over the lake.
Around North Avenue Beach House, there is this wonderful single tree in the middle of the path. Kind of sad being separated from the other trees and surrounded by cement. Still regal & proud with its tree silhouette
Who knew that further down the path on my way home I would ride through some low-lying areas that were covered with fog?! Now I’m sure there is some meteorological reason for why this happens. But I’d like to think it’s just morning magic. So that’s what I’m going with. And I love when it happens… especially when the sun hits just the right spot and the fog lights up and streams through the tree branches creating these wonderful shadows.
It started out as a dark & cloudy morning with just a sliver of color along the horizon. As the sun continued to rise, the clouds took on a very moody feel. Kind of ominous, but also filled with potential.
Suddenly the dark clouds lit up with vibrant shades of red.
And lucky for me, I was at a great vantage point for the sunrise… AND a part of the lakefront where the waves come crashing in. And today was one of those fun days!!!
If you don’t time it right, all you get is a beautiful sunrise?!
And let me just say… pretty is pretty, but splashing waves are a LOT more fun.
In this case, timing is everything.
Too much excitement?… let’s calm it back down a bit…
And now back to the waves with one final splash!!!
After a full day of being “trapped” inside yesterday while firing my soda kiln, it felt GREAT to be back outside this morning. Crisp & clear… with long sleeves on! I’m usually enjoying a nice SUNrise in the morning. But today we still had a clear view of the MOON too!
Not the most exciting of sunrises… but still the best way to start my day!!!
And still not too shabby.
This morning was dark.
More than half of my ride was in darkness.
Eventually a little glow of color. Finally enough to SEE my bike!!!
Soon enough I was so I was at the end of my ride. Waiting. All the way back to the furthest north beach along the bike trail. Waiting for the sun to make it over the horizon. And it finally did… as the waves were rolling in and the beach grasses were waving in the breeze.
