With a forecast for more snow this evening, I had a brief window of opportunity to get out this morning for my sunrise bike ride while the roads were still clear. Sure it was cold – but at least the windchill wasn’t so bitter!!! The lakefront is still covered with glaciers… and the splashing waves are making sure they don’t disappear any time soon.

With a big snowfall predicted for later this evening, this morning was the perfect chance to squeeze in a quick bike ride on the last day of the month. Roads were dry & clear… most likely not so much after tonight’s impending snow!

I had a beautiful drive down to Navy Pier this morning. I love a good sunrise while “stuck in traffic” driving on Lake Shore Drive. Gives me something to appreciate instead of getting frustrated.

Still a little too mushy & slushy for a good morning bike ride. But never too much for a beautiful sunrise. It’s been too long… and looking forward to the predicted “heat wave” of tomorrow in the 40’s!!!

Well, this morning was the last sunrise of 2014.
And it was a cold one with frozen fingers!!! I think it was even too cold for clouds?!

Here’s to a wonderful New Year… and plenty of warmer sunrises in 2015!!!

Another dry morning today.
Another chance to get out and pedal.

It didn’t start with much sunrise potential.
It was slow in the making, but it was definitely worth the wait.

And seriously… how often do your see actual ICICLES washing up on the beach?!
Crazy, right?

The mornings have been cloudy & rainy for days.
I try to avoid riding when the bike trail is wet or slippery.
It’s just not safe… or fun.

Finally… a dry morning today. Great to be out on my bike
even though there was still no hope of a sunrise.
