This morning was very quiet.
Not a cloud in the sky. No crashing waves.
Not a lot of commotion going on along the lakefront at this time of the day.

Just a beautiful & serene sunrise creating some wonderfully “silent” silhouettes.

Sure, the sunrise was pretty…
but what’s with that one big cloud to the south?!
                             …and encroaching very quickly.

This morning was windy & cold.
In hindsight I should have brought out the tights & winter gloves?!
Who knew it was June 1st???

With the brisk wind blowing in off the lake, it was also bringing one large cloud mass.
Just hoping to see the sun before it gets covered completely.

And with that wind also came some crashing waves!

Clear skies.
Shimmering reflections.

Lots of sun. Lots of clouds. Lots of photo…

The early morning sky was layered with spots of color.
Clouds of all different colors & shades. A calico patchwork of colors.

As the sun continued to rise, the clouds continued to blow in.
A dark wave of clouds threatening to take over the morning sky.

Luckily, the clouds didn’t ruin the show… they just made it better!!!

Who says a panoramic shot has to be horizontal?

This morning was AMAZING!!!

Just enough time to squeeze in a beautiful sunrise bike ride before Day Two of the Schaumburg Prairie Arts Festival. The ride was great, the sunrise spectacular and an added bonus… I got to pedal all the way home on Lake Shore Drive as an “unofficial” rider of Bike The Drive. Whoo-hoo!!!

But back to the sunrise… STUNNING!!!
