Pastel colors turned to shimmering reflections. Colorful ripples.
And a big red ball “bouncing” on the horizon line.

And a really large “foam” finger on the beach… yep… the Chicago Art Institute
is celebrating its big win!… Voted #1 Museum In The World by TripAdvisor.com!!!

Big fun in the sky. Big clouds. Big sunrise. Big photo.

Sure, the sunrise was pretty amazing… but the clouds themselves weren’t too shabby either!!!

This morning started out pretty quiet with just a few pastel clouds in the sky.
Nothing too exciting. Just a quiet Saturday morning along the lakefront.

But then the clouds started to roll in… and the sky got a lot cooler!!!
More “obstacles” for the sun to play with. And you could see then moving in over the skyline.

And when the sun got to play with them… magic ensued.

With today being the official opening of the new & improved Northerly Island Park, I thought it only fitting that I kick it off with some sunrise photos. There’s a new lagoon in the middle that adds new dimension to some skyline photos & sunrise reflections. Oh yeah, so there “may have been” a bit of a fence still there to keep people out. Maybe… Allegedly…

And then, just in time for the sunrise, I pedaled over to the Adler Planetarium.

And then it was back to Northerly Island for some shimmering sunrise colors over the new Northerly Island lagoon.

A big sky with a big sunrise needs a big photo!

It felt great to finally have a fog-free morning.
Just a few clouds on the horizon with beautiful pastel colors.

As the sun continued to peek over the horizon it created beautiful glittery reflections.

Soon enough the sun went back behind the clouds. Still cool with streaming sunbeams.
