A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play

So it’s been a crazy couple of weeks. Too much going on in my little world.
Last weekend’s art fair, late nights in the studio, kiln loading, glazing, etc…
and some family health issues going on again. So I’ve been a little remiss in posting…
but definitely needing these morning rides for a little relaxation & sanity.

And just when I thought that the clouds had “sucked in” the sun
and that the sunrise show was over… SUNBEAMS!!!

Deep saturated colors early on. Layers of low-flying clouds.
And beautiful, early morning reflections at Belmont Harbor.

Followed by vibrant layers of golden orange tones.
And finally a shining bright sunrise. Another beautiful morning ride.

This morning was a colorful mix of clouds & contrails. Hard to tell where one started and the other one mixed in?! No matter what they were… it all added up to a spectacular sunrise!!!

Another cloudy day… there’s a nice blue sky back there somewhere?!

Sure, I’ve already had the “traditional” sunrise during my bike ride.
But here’s another version with a bit more of an “urban” vibe.

Dark clouds sweeping the sky. And a pretty serene reflection of clouds on the large “puddle” on the beach. Kinda felt like a sunrise Rorschach Test?!

With a small sliver of space low on the horizon, the sun found its chance to peek through.

A little of everything… and BIG fun too!!!

Today was a two-fer… one dark cloud hovering AND a beautiful sunrise!
One on top of the other… with some beautiful pink clouds in between!

Dark and moody. Beautiful shades of indigo & blues.
Not much in the way of a sunrise… just lots of clouds!!!
