A bit warmer today, but also a LOT windier.
Crazy gusty winds along the lakefront… especially blowing between the building!!!
Plenty of clouds blowing through and changing very quickly this morning.
Plus some really great frozen walls near Montrose Harbor.

I was just getting ready to pedal home… thinking that there were too many clouds to have a good sunrise. But then… there was a parting in the clouds, and some of them started to change colors.

And then… out of nowhere, the clouds scattered and became little puff balls. Tons of them!!! All over the place. The blue sky was gorgeous with the contrasting white clouds.

Blue skies, puffy white clouds… and some wonderful tree silhouettes.

But then, as the sun continued to rise and go behind the clouds, the sky took on a more ominous tone. And made the lamp post appear as though it were still shining!!!

So I tried to pedal home… but the sky just kept getting better and better.
More clouds. More sunrise effects. More morning silhouettes.

More blue skies and glorious sunrise moment.

So glad I stuck it out in the blustery wind for a beautiful moment like this!

A little chilly… a little windy… but well worth the shivers!
I really loved the texture of the lake with frozen shards of ice scattered everywhere. And the way the sunrise colors sparkled on those spikes of ice.

Sure, the sunrise is pretty… but look at those sharp shards of ice!!!

A brief moment of sunrise beauty this morning before the gray clouds took over…
and then back to pedaling into the wind.

And did I mention clouds?… did I mention gray?…

It was a cloudy morning ride with an incredibly short-lived burst of crazy color.

And then done for the day… and back to gray!

With a slight heatwave passing through, it was a beautiful bicycle ride this morning.
Cloudier than I expected, but glad it worked out so beautifully.

and me sweating with too many layers of clothing on. The not-so “perfect” combo???

Just in case you doubted that one big cloud moving in this morning…
here it is again.

A few slim layers of clouds this morning for a beautiful sunrise.

Followed by one large cloud that seemed to move in for the rest of the day!
Hey, at least it was pretty as it was moving in…

And just I love that one perfect, brief moment when the sun barely peeks out over the horizon. Too bad it lasts but a second.

Sorry East Coast… but it’s still pretty nice here in Chicago!
No real snow to speak of. Just another beautiful sunrise
with some cool “icebergs” floating in Lake Michigan.

Sure, the Lake may be a little “slushy”… but Montrose Harbor is frozen solid.

Back to the Lake…

Chilly morning with some wonderful splashing waves along the lakefront.
Luckily, none of them splashed on me!!!

And did I say it was cold… well, here are some frozen & icicle-covered bushes along the lakefront.

And then the sun made an appearance, and illuminated some of the crashing waves!!!
