This might look like a postcard from Paradise, but I swear it was taken this morning along the Lake during my sunrise bike ride… in Chicago!!! Not Mexico. Not Hawaii. Not Bora Bora.

ANOTHER AMAZING SKY SHOW!!!
Just when you thought yesterday’s sunrise was pretty incredible… today’s might have just up’d the ante! The colors, the sweep of clouds and the eventual sunrise reflections.
SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

A little further down the road… the splash of color had gone, but Belmont Harbor had a cool illumination reflecting through the harbor.

Huge color splash across the morning sky!

The morning started out with a lot of clouds. Just an angled sliver of color under the cloud cover. But then it all lit up with amazing vibrant colors!!!

For a few short minutes we had a wonderful sky show… and then back to clouds.

A clouded morning. Dark & gloomy until the sun decided to highlight a few of the clouds here & there.

And then, just when you thought it was over… the sun found one last chance to shine through.

It started out very dark & windy this morning. When I got to the lakefront you could hear the waves crashing before you could see them. Dark & gloomy until the sun came piercing through… even if just for a few minutes before the clouds took over for the day!

Clear skies. Calm waters. Beautiful reflections.

Big drama this morning along the lakefront during my sunrise bike ride.

It was an AMAZING morning!!! When I first made it to the lakefront, the clouds were just starting to illuminate. Vibrant colors layered above the horizon. As the morning continued, the sun made its way up – brighter, but still with the drama intact. A harbinger of the storms that are forecasted to blow through Chicago this evening.

And then the clouds won out…
