Another beautiful morning along the Lakefront. And a great way to start out the day before heading back for Day Two of the Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival. I’m in Booth #32 today from 11:00am-6:00pm. It’s looking like another perfect weather day!!!

Beautiful sunrise colors sweeping across the sky and backlighting the Chicago Skyline.

Looks like we’re off to a beautiful start to a great weekend. Perfect for the Evanston Lakeshore Fine Arts Festival in Dawes Park today & tomorrow. I’ll be in Booth #32 at the southeast end of the pond.

And then, sometimes THIS happens… timing is everything…

Big sky show this morning… spanning across the sky and into the Skyline!

Dramatic skies and high contrast reflections as huge clouds blew across the City this morning. A beautiful ride as some of the weekend’s heat & humidity seems to be leaving Chicago… maybe?!… hopefully?!!… alledgedly?!!!

Quite hot & humid even in the early hours this morning. You know that feeling you have when your feet get all “pruney” after a long day of biking in rain soaked bike shoes? How you feel a wet squishy “bubble” every time you press the pedal down? Well I had that this morning… and it was all SWEAT!!! Gross… but a beautiful ride!!!
The clouds… the view… the silhouettes…

And the HUGE sun as it slowly emerged over the horizon…

And then all too soon, the orange sunrise was replaced with a vibrant golden shimmer.

With a low-flying layer of haze & fog, the morning’s marine layer lingered for quite awhile… as some dramatic contrails crossed the sky for a bit of added drama.

With a quick glance to the south, the Chicago Skyline was framed nicely by a bank of sunrise pink clouds.
