Just painting some details on the flower pots with some accents of colored flashing slips. They may look white & beige now… but hopefully after the soda-firing they will “magically” change to bright oranges & yellows with some cool randomness due to the soda-firing atmosphere!

Enjoying late afternoon flowers on the back porch. Vibrant & fragrant bee balm flowers & furry smoke bush clippings in a soda-fired ikebana vase… and a mini hosta in a handmade flower pot!

When a vase finally gets flowers… it’s like some kind of destiny fulfilled! Thank you Sarah for sharing your beautiful roses in my stamped & soda-fired vase! A nice addition to your kitchen.

A couple mugs enjoying their new homes for another MUGSHOT MONDAY! So much fun seeing them in their new environments… with cookies, flowers, whatever!!! Keep sending me the photos… I love seeing my work actually being used in people’s homes!!!

Tonight I painted all of the parts & pieces with a few different colored flashing slips. It will be fun to see how the colors interact with the soda-firing atmosphere in the kiln. Creating cool flashing marks on the pieces… adding a bit of “random” to my kinda obsessive control issues while stamping! Ha!!!

Stamping just one cylinder is fun, but stamping a whole table full of them is AMAZING!!! So much fun seeing these pieces transform with new textures & patterns!
