So I did a little “detailing” on my batch of small plates… a bit of stamping, texturing & altering of rims. Still working towards ART IN THE GARDEN… the last weekend of August… where our big collaboration project will all come together!!! Just trying to stay one step ahead of Cory… HA!!!

So here they are… one by one… two shots of each!!!

So there they are… plenty of plates… with a couple extra just in case. You know nothing is guaranteed with pottery. Better to hedge your bets with a couple extras!

When the big storm came though a couple days ago, apparently is broke off a bunch of Rosene’s coleus plants. Not to be beaten down, she gathered them up and made a cute little centerpiece for herself! Helps when you have a nice little stamped & soda-fired vase to put them in!!!

Celebrating a little MUGSHOT MONDAY after the storm!
Huge winds & heavy rain blew right through The Windy City taking down trees, power lines and so much more! I hope that everyone is safe after this crazy weather incident. I know we have trees down, branches & leaves everywhere… but still safe & healthy! All good here.

During class last Saturday, I showed my students how to throw dinner plates. My demo piece has been under plastic in my studio… and it was finally time to do a bit of stamping!!!

I also showed my Saturday students how to throw a larger platter… which gives you more space to decorate! More space, MORE STAMPING!!!…

And you know my motto… more is more!!!

Well, my part of these collaboration pieces are soda-fired & done… and I’ve got five of My Talented Friends who’ve agreed to collaborate with them for ART IN THE GARDEN. Amy, Cory, Ken, Kristin & Retta will all be working “their magic” with them as special one-of-a-kind collaborations only for this special grassroots art show!

More to come I’m sure…
as I can’t wait to see what each of them do to finish off my lidded jars!

Under wraps waiting to be trimmed… a few more bowls for my ART IN THE GARDEN collaboration project!

I’m working on my part of the collaboration project I’m doing with my pal Cory McCrory for ART IN THE GARDEN. We’re just three weeks away so it’s time to get things going in high gear! Gotta get my part done… as I would hate to be the one who doesn’t fulfill my part of the collaboration!!!

So I’ve been stamping & details another set of bowls… getting one step closer…

More to come as I keep working on my part of the collaboration!
This is just a start… and little bit of a “teaser”!!!

After I stamped the demo platter, Olivia felt inspired… and ready to tackle her first stamping project. So she borrowed one of my “favorite” stamps and made a double ring around her newest mug! I told her to be careful… it’s a very slippery-slope!

And then…. almost as if it were a Martha Stewart cooking show… I switched out the platter to one I had thrown a couple days ago to prepare for the demo. This one was a bit stiffer – the wetter-side of leatherhard I like to call it. And then we did a stamping demo on the platter using one stamp for most of it, and then a couple little details along the rim! Fun demo for everyone!!!

So I squeezed in a little stamping between sunrise & summer camp this morning! I’ve still got a few more bowls to stamp… but I had to go quick as my campers were arriving soon!!! Happy that I got one done at least… stamped one-by-one-by-one… and the stamp that did all the work!!!
