Just a few of the new “wheelthrown-handbuilt-combo” mugs fresh out of the soda kiln! These are just a few of the orange ones… my favorite color! I’m loving the bright, clear color, the flash of soda-white that highlights the textures & the all-around-the-mug texture pattern! Many of the textured patterns were made with hand rollers from MKM Pottery Tools.

Methinks there’s a very good chance that a few of these might just make their “Big Debut” at the HINSDALE FINE ART SHOW this weekend.

And yes, I’m still looking for a clever name to call these new mugs!
Open to suggestions… please…

A simple stamped perimeter making it a not-so-simple dinner plate…
and the handmade stamp that did most of the work!

Sure, my pie crust may not be so decorative this time…
but I was hoping that the handmade stamped pie pan might compensate for that?! And really… it was more about making a yummy rhubarb pie… and then EATING a yummy rhubarb pie!!!

The first layer… the first shelf… the first lidded jar… SO EXCITED!!!

Two days later… and this is all that’s left of Rosene’s chocolate carrot cake! One piece, a ring of frosting and a pretty stamped platter. Looks like it was a big hit. And more importantly, looks like that last piece would fit in small box to ship off to ME!!! Just sayin’…

So while I’m in the studio firing the soda kiln all day today, looks like some of my friends are having a YUMMY morning. Like my pal Sarah who’s enjoying a banana & chocolate chip breakfast bundt cake this morning!!!

So?… if there’s no frosting does that mean the cake is for breakfast???

A few oval vases glazed & ready for soda-firing… just need some wadding! I think these might be the last pieces to be glazed… getting ready to start loading soon.

looks like Sally’s yummy lemon tart cake will make Matthew smile (and maybe pucker-up a bit) for his birthday! Happy Belated Birthday Matthew!!!
