Working on the mugs again… spending some time stamping the geometric patterns! Pretty pleased so far finding out that the new stamps are working well. Making the quantities as requested… plus a few extras “just in case” something happens along the way! Perfect for another MUGSHOT MONDAY!

You know how much I love a good spiral… and this plate is REALLY showing off!!!

Looking forward to pear season… and until then, this fake pear will have to do. I mean, it does make this stamped bowl look even better. A little pop of color in a white bowl with dark tenmoku glaze inlaid in the stamps!

A few beautiful flowers arranged in a stamped & soda-fired ikebana vase can make a striking floral statement. No need for tons of flowers… this simple arrangement is BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing your floral fun Karen!

As if a fun Stamping Demo on ZOOM weren’t enough… one of my ZOOM participants left with “a lovely parting gift.” I decided it would be fun to giveaway a mug to one of the people who “suffered” through with me to the end! Tonight I did my stamping demo on ZOOM as part of the NORTHERN ILLINOIS POTTERY TOUR. We had a great time, answered a lot of questions, covered a lot of topics and stamped a couple bowls along the way! We thought it would be maybe 20 minutes… turned out a bit longer… almost a full hour longer!!! Like I said, we covered a LOT!!!

Some of my favorite surfaces are the “plain” stamped pieces! Not a ton of bright colors… maybe just a few little pops here & there. It’s more about the soda-firing process creating the surface. But for me it all starts with the STAMPING!!!
