Celebrating another TEXTURE TUESDAY with a collection of my stamped & soda-fired square vases. The textures are fun… especially because there’s a different textured pattern on the other side of each vase!!! Get tired of one side?… just turn it around.

I tried my best to “save” some of the demo bowls from last week for my Tuesday night class… so I could continue the demo with decorating some of them with my students. I tried to wait… I tried to keep a few... but I just couldn’t. The bowls were starting to dry out and I didn’t want to wait too long… I hope they understand that I had to stamp without them! I’ll still bring them to class to show them what I did while they were gone!

It’s early October… but it’s never too early to make another batch of holiday star ornaments, right?!

After stamping, trimming & adding handles… I added some colored flashing slip accents to the latest batch of mugs! The band along the top with a smidge on the stamped impressions… and these slips will change colors during the soda firing!

Nothing dresses up an empty dining room table than some handmade pottery! Thanks Erin for sharing the newest additions to your dining room… a nice blue stamped platter and a stamped vase to hold the flowers!

Always fun when your next door neighbors leave you a few flowers on the back porch… because they KNOW you have better things to display them in than the plastic water bottle they’ve been using! Thanks Melanie & Mia… they look so much happier now!

Looks like Jody is enjoying a little snack… red wine over ice, with bread & butter. Always a tasty treat… but even more so on handmade pottery! Thanks for sharing Jody… even though some have said it looks a bit more like Communion than a snack?!!!

Celebrating a little MUGSHOT MONDAY… with a sad occasion for my friend Kristen! My mugs may be food-safe, dishwasher-safe & microwave-safe… but they are NOT gravity-safe! Too bad Kristen learned that lesson the hard way… luckily she has a few back-ups & a few “imposters” we need to work on replacing!!! Hint, hint…

Well, here it is… stamped & soda-fired… and my September “entry” in the MONTHLY CHAIN CHALLENGE! I’ve been working on it for awhile now, and I’ve been waiting to share it here. I think the original intention of the challenge was for metalsmiths to show-off their handmade metal chains… but you can make CLAY chains too! And I did… so there!!! HA!!!

After bisque firing my chain, I started adding some inlaid glazes into the stamped details. After soda-firing, the chain should be toasty & shiny with some stamped textures & patterns!
