When an iris bloom breaks off the stem, don’t fret… just put it in a small water-filled sipper for a quick centerpiece that brings the iris beauty inside! Thanks for the idea Rosene!!!

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to the SCHAUMBURG PRAIRIE ARTS FESTIVAL this weekend. It was so great to finally see everyone’s smiling face again… we had fantastic weather both days too! I now have the fresh flowers from my booth in a stamped & soda-fire vase on my back porch. If you missed out this weekend, you can come next weekend to the HINSDALE FINE ARTS FAIR on June 4th & 5th.

Prepping, pricing & packing for tomorrow’s Schaumburg art fair set-up. Right now working on my latest batch of flowerpots… just waiting for a new home & a new plant!!!

Kicking off my summer art fair season this weekend at the SCHAUMBURG PRAIRIE ARTS FESTIVAL. Two days in the park with lots of pottery & other talented artists! I’ll be in Booth #17… my “usual” space. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there again after a two-year “hiatus.” It’s going to feel good to be back!

Last night in class, we finished off Part Two of last week’s lidded jars demo. Tackling the knobs on the lids… with two knobs created while trimming (closest to the jars) and the other two with cute little finials wheelthrown onto the lids from an attached nugget of clay. Always good to have options!

Spent a little time in the studio this afternoon “finishing up” some of my recent class demo pieces. This was a request from my Intermediate Class to make a large two-part stacked piece. Kelly requested a planter… but I kinda think this landed somewhere “between” planter & vase?! I stuck with planter… and added drainage holes and threw a water trip tray today to go with it.

One of my students was out today for a neighborhood “up-cycle event”… aka garage sale?… and she ran across this gem! One of my stamped & soda-fired vases from a couple years ago! Not only did Darcy get it for FREE… she also had a nice chat with the previous owner.
My favorite part… “it was a little faded on one side.” HA!!!…
or maybe just SODA-FIRED?!!!
You know… pottery doesn’t really “fade” all that much!!!

A yummy breakfast looks even yummier on handmade pottery! Looks like Rosene’s day is off to a great start… crispy, creamy & cheesy. What’s not to like?!

Enjoying the Spring flowers these days.
Still gray & chilly outside, but with a lot of beautiful colors popping up all over the neighborhood… and on my back porch!

Stamping flower pots with my own handmade clay stamps…
one impression at a time… over & over & over…
