Swing by Hinsdale this weekend for the Hinsdale Fine Arts Festival.
I’ll be there in Booth #100 with plenty of handmade, decorative & functional pottery. Mostly stamped & soda-fired, but also some of these new, bright pops of color!!! We’re there from 10:00am-5:00pm both days. Hope to see you there.
Last night’s class demo was assembling a teapot. We threw the parts last week…
the body “cylinder”, the small bowl for a lid, a pulled handle and a spout thrown off the hump.
Showing my Beginners how they already know how to make all of the parts.
Now they just need the confidence to “put it all together.”
Another platter stamped and waiting to be trimmed.
It’s spending the night under plastic… hoping to trim it in a couple days.
It always seems like platters take a “lot” longer to get to a good trimming leatherhard state
than anything else. If you flip them to trim too soon, the center sags and causes problems!!!
I always enjoy hearing from my happy & satisfied customers…
and I just LOVE seeing my pots in their new homes!!!
Keep sending me your photos & stories!!!
Dear Gary,
I attached a photo of the flower pot that my husband bought for me last weekend in Schaumburg. I love it. Your design and artistic talent are remarkable. This pot is beautiful and functional right down to the swirl in the tray which is a nice detail and allows for better drainage! Your work is appreciated and I wish you much success.
Best Regards,
Nancy
