I started the evening with a bunch of cylinders… thirty-six to be exact.
They were way too plain… begging for a bit of textured fun.

So I grabbed two stamps and set forth… first, a single row of lager stamps along the indentation. Which by the way, is the perfect “trick” to help keep your stamps straight.

Then a little “detailing” inside of the indentation to break it up and make it look a bit les obvious.

And then the same small stamp turned and tapped under the original larger stamp.

And here are the two stamps that did all of the work…

One done… thirty-five more to go!!!

Last night in class my Beginning students trimmed & added handles to their first mugs!
Here’s my class demo… and sure, I “might” have done a little stamping on mine too?!!!

Stamped & soda-fired mug with some great grooves accented with a colored flashing slip.

Looks like my friend Nancy has been enjoying some sweet sips in one of my stamped porcelain cups. Quite similar to my earlier post when I was enjoying some pre-Christmas eggnog. Different tastes for different people. Like I’ve said before… I have the palate of a four year old!

A “sweet” collaboration to finish off our festivities last night. My niece Taylor’s decorated sugar cookies on one of my stamped & soda-fired platters!

Sure, the presents have been sweet. Time with family… sweet.
Games. Toys. Stories… sweet, sweet, sweet. But I’ve always been one to push it one step further… so it’s time for dessert!!! And the SWEETest part of the day!!! Homemade chocolate cheesecake to polish off the holiday meal. Please sir, I want some MORE!!!

While running holiday errands today I “just happened” to pick-up a yummy bottle of egg nog. Couldn’t wait to break it open… and it’s good for me, right? It’s a dairy product… for strong teeth and bones! Ha!!!
