Some fun new stamped & glaze colored mugs for this weekend’s HOLIDAY HOME SHOW! Still looking for some new “names” to call each glaze color?! I think I’ve settled on “aubergine” for the purple one. I’ve jokingly been saying if we call it “purple” it’s one price, but if we call it “aubergine’ with a pompous verbal flair then it costs twice as much!!!

Color name suggestions anyone???

New oval vases with double handles drying in the studio. Each with a textured panel on both sides between the handles… thanks to some textured handrollers from MKM Pottery Tools. Loving the contrast of the smooth rounded ends & handles juxtaposed with the textured panels. Even better… the double handles will help hold your flowers up for a low-profile floral arrangement!

Time to get my groove on… starting with another groovy & crisp pattern from an MKM Pottery Tools handroller. Starting with a textured slab… with a plan in mind for a new oval vase project! Coming soon… deadlines are approaching!!!

After “warming up” with stamping a dinner plate, it was time to tackle a larger platter. A blank canvas… then a couple stamps using my own handmade stamp. Sure I coulda stopped after on ring around the perimeter… but what fun would that be???

Started with a little stamping in the studio tonight. Just adding a little “fun” to a dinner plate demo from class this week! And you know how I love a good spiral.

Who’s been naughty?… and who’s been nice???

Just doing a little stamping tonight on a couple demo bowls from last night’s pottery class. We discussed making “larger” bowls… and then we did!!! Sure, I could select them plain… HA!!!

One of my stamped & soda-fired totem poles down in Central Illinois getting ready for Fall. Plants are withering & leaves are starting to turn & fall… love seeing this through the seasons!

Gotta love a good Fall Farmers Market… when they have big bags of crunchy-sweet apples! And you also gotta love having a big pottery bowl to put them in!!!

Like I said before… I liked all of the “not-so-basic bowls” after my class demo last Tuesday night. But I kinda thought they were missing something?! So I did a little more stamping & detailing on all of the bowls tonight. A lot more texture & stamped details on all of the bowls. I feel better now!
