Lots of stamped textures. Lots of tiles!!!

Just finishing some colored slip accents on the last batch of mugs. These ones will be soda-fired so the slip colors should become more vibrant & reactive to the soda atmosphere. Couple more to go, and then calling it a night… as that sunrise bike ride comes around pretty darn early in the morning… followed by another full day of Summer Camp!

After camp today, I finished up my latest batch of mugs. A few finishing touches and now they can be set out to dry. This batch is B-Clay and will be glazed mugs. I still have another batch to finish up made with Soda Clay… so I need to add some colored flashing soda slip accents to those and then they too can be set out to dry.

Today’s cylinders all stamped and one step closer…
for tomorrow I’ll trim and add handles!

Okay, so Day One of the Hinsdale Fine Arts Festival was a bit on the soggy side. Rain all morning to dampen everyone’s spirits. Luckily, pottery only looks better when it’s wet, right?! And when the clouds moved out, the afternoon was much better!

Last night was the last class of the Spring session of my Beginner’s Wheelthrowing class. Every session I challenge them to make a piece to trade & exchange at the final class. This session the “theme” was plates & platters. This Josh Blue & sprayed temoku plate was my entry into the Exchange Game… which one of my students gladly went home with!!!

A sweet little stamped & soda-fired porcelain mug
with a wide range of colors & flashing effects to brighten your day!

Another platter fully stamped with one stamp all the way around…
one by one… by one… by one…

Mini flowers need mini vases.
And mini vases need mini stamps, right?!
Love the smell of lily-of-the-valley too!!!

Unloaded my latest bisque kiln early this morning.
Looks like another fun “project” well under way! Details to come…
