So I’ve been trying to grow some of my own bittersweet over the past few years. First on a trellis in my back yard…. err, cement courtyard in a large pot. A few years later I moved it to my front yard garden to grow up a street lamp. I’ve always gotten pretty good leaves… but this year was the first time I’ve ever found the flowers & berries on my plant! Very exciting… as it’s completely growing up & taking over the lamp post!!!
A very special THANK YOU to everyone who came out to my second Holiday Home Show MUD & METAL this weekend. We had a lot of fun this weekend helping people with their holiday shopping… whether for those on their list… or for themselves!!!
And if you’re local & missed out on the fun, you can still come over to do some holiday shopping if you shoot me an email to set-up a time!

Tomorrow’s the big day! The kick-off of this weekend’s MUD & METAL Holiday Home Show! We’re open Saturday & Sunday from 10:00am-6:00pm with plenty of pottery & jewelry for everyone on your holiday gift list. Swing by to do a little holiday shopping, to enjoy some holiday cheer… or to just sit on my comfy sofa to hang out with us for awhile! Remember, we’re staying safe with face masks & social-distancing even if you’re vaccinated!
Had a nice “shout-out” on Instagram yesterday from the folks at DiamondCore Tools! I used one of their diamond grinding bats to “save” a few mugs from bad glazed & wadded bottoms! So easy, so smooth… all the more reason why I LOVE DiamondCore Tools !!!
Not the best photo… but FUNNY nonetheless!
My friend Carla was walking through her neighborhood and saw one of my pots “out in the wild.” And she thought she needed to “capture” it and send it my way! So of course, I had to share… scratches, glares, reflections and all.
Always fun to see a pottery collection coming together after the latest Holiday Home Show… with Keith & Julie sharing the latest additions to their ever-growing collection. They’ve got some nice colors going on here… as well as the “first-of-one” pillar candle holder that was on “The Tired Of Shlepping” sale shelves!!
Looks like a yummy Thanksgiving meal… homemade food on handmade pottery! So glad that my pottery could part of the holiday celebration. Thanks for the photos Matthew!
If you have photos from your Thanksgiving festivities, I’d love to see them… shoot them over to ‘gary@firewhenreadypottery.com’
HUGE THANKS to everyone who came out this weekend for my Holiday Home Show… and thanks to the sun for shining in & hitting the pots on the dining room table just right throughout the day. We’ve officially kicked off the holiday shopping season… giddy-up!!!
Just spending a little time this morning restocking & replenishing shelves for Day Two of my HOLIDAY HOME SHOW… including the “Tired Of Shlepping Sale” shelves on the back porch! Don’t forget, we’re open again today from 10:00am-6:00pm!
A quick reminder that MY HOLIDAY HOME SHOW is this weekend! With plenty of pottery for everyone on your Holiday Gift List… and your personal Wish List too!!! Hope you can make it this weekend… with masks required for everyone… and please feel free to bring a friend or two… or five!!!
