When I got home from my bike ride this morning, I was pleased to find some beautiful colors & textures in my back courtyard. I’ve been so busy the past few weeks that I haven’t really had time to “stop and smell the roses”… or even see the beauty in my own backyard! I especially like the little water droplets resting on the caladium leaves.
And the purple obedient plants are blooming all around the totem pole in my back courtyard. I love the geometric repetition & architecture of these flowers. The fact that they spread and bloom for a long time are an added bonus!
As I was in the studio glazing, I could hear the sounds of a storm rolling through. So I checked it out from the third floor of Lillstreet… and luckily, had brought my camera along. I t was pretty impressive being able to see the actual storm from moving through… and the fact that we were right on the edge of the storm. Oh and look, there it is… the actual EDGE of the storm!!!
Uh oh… the nest of four baby bunnies was gone today.
Try explaining that to all of the Summer Camp kids… over & over & over again!
Where are they? Where did they go? How did they get out? Where’s Mom? etc….
I hope that my “safe” answer is correct… that Mom carefully carried them out
to safety by the scruff of their neck.
The kids seemed to buy it…
better than any of the other possible scenarios that were all a bit more gruesome!
Day Two in Evanston was another beautiful day on the lake.
There were a few more clouds, and a little chill in the air, but I’ll take ’em. It was quite possibly the best “art-fair-weather-weekend” ever!!! No rain. No storms. No wind. No forced evacuations. No gnat infestations. Nothing that we’ve grown accustomed to in Evanston?! Just beautiful… and more beautiful.
