Nature at its finest after the morning’s rain.

Wicker Park. Just one of the many beautiful parks in Chicago –
especially with the morning sun hitting the fountain just right.
Okay, so “maybe” this park has a few too many pigeons,
unless someone has taught them how to read???

After the rain at Ravinia, it was nice to have clouded skies WITHOUT the rain today! A moment of free-time to hangout on my bike along the lakefront… and taking a quick break at Montrose Harbor.

Riding through rural farms in the early morning sun.
An assortment of wheat & seagrass in the morning fog for some amber waves of grain.

The Port Mahon pier may be a beautiful photo-op for me…
but you definitely have to watch your step!

As mini windblown “sand dunes” creep onto the bike trail…
it’s always fun to see footprints in the sand.

Sure, sometimes it’s full-blown tire tracks & treads?!! Still cool.

On another gloomy gray day, I’ll take a bit of Spring green anywhere we can find it.
Loving Mother Nature’s textures & colors in Early Spring.

So now that they have their mugs assembled, it’s time for my Pottery Throwdown students to embellish them. So last night towards the end of class, the next challenge was revealed. They now need to take their four matching mugs and decorate them to represent, signify, resemble, interpret or otherwise show some influence by The Four Seasons. They have until class next Thursday to “finish them up” and bring them to class as they’re drying to greenware!

It’s completely up to them how they approach the project…
stylized & graphic?… sculptural?… illustrative?… carved?… stamped?… sgraffito?… painted?…
or otherwise “naturally” inspired!!!

A chilly, but beautiful, afternoon for a serene winter stroll along a semi-frozen creek on my way out to another family holiday gathering. Plenty of blue sky and quietly trickling water.

After last night’s 30-degree temperature drop & crazy strong winds, some plants are STILL hanging onto their Fall leaves.
