Some beautiful spring flowers gracefully dancing in front of the one of my stamped & soda-fired totem poles down in Central Illinois… is there such a thing as #TotemPoleTuesday?!

And sure, there may have been a bit of April snow this morning…
but it looks like Spring is still holding strong!

Gracefully arching branches of Solomon’s Seal blooming with tiny little flowers hanging below the variegated leaves. I have a few in my front yard, but they have yet to pop-up… whereas these beauties are a bit advanced in a sunny place along a south-facing brick wall.

With some cool weather over the past couple days, it seems like the spring flowers are hanging on a bit longer than normal… like these beautiful azaleas that have been blooming for a couple weeks now!

And still looking good!

Turns out the night-time shadows were created by the flowering crabapple tree on the corner by Lillstreet. Apparently the clear skies & moonlight, along with the streetlight, were bright enough to illuminate these flowers for an evening “photo shoot” of some beautiful & fragrant spring blossoms.

Leaving the studio late tonight after a very productive evening. And as I was walking away I was struck by the leafy patterns shadowed on the sidewalk. You don’t always get to see great shadows like these when it’s dark outside!!!

I’m kinda excited… I’m trying to grow dahlias this summer for the first time. I started them indoors and these little nuggets popped up this morning!!! Just in time for NATIONAL GARDENING DAY!!!

Beautiful sunshine streaming through splashing some bright light & dramatic shadows on the colorful Spring flowers.

Morning magnolia moments.
So graceful, structural & fragrant.
Too bad they’re so fragile & short-lived.

Sunny little daffodils blooming to greet the day!

Pretty Periwinkle flowers blooming & crawling across the vinca vines in the garden. Such a nice groundcover with glossy green leaves. They always reminds me of my Aunt Marilyn’s house in St. Charles that had a wonderfully thick patch of vinca vines by the front door!
