Since I can’t quite show you “The Big Picture” yet… cuz’ that would be no fun…
It’s another TEASER of my collaboration project with Cory McCrory – close-up this time!!!
She’s been working hard on these wonderfully whimsical pieces. You’re gonna luv ’em!
Now I need to add my part of the collaboration. Coming soon… I’ve got one week!!!
Another talented potter making fun pots. The Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival was Lesley’s first “big” art fair… and I knew she would be a hit!!! So I made sure to snag a great mug early Saturday morning before she sold out.
Lesley has been doing a lot of slip trailing decoration on her work lately. The intricate designs remind me of some traditional henna tattoo patterns. She then rubs some glaze onto the bisqued slip trailing, and wipes it off to give it that “ghostly” haze that pops the decoration right off the pot. Beautiful. And besides these, she was also showing off her whimsical side with fish, owls and other musical pieces!!!

Another colorful glimpse into my collaboration with Cory McCrory on some wall pieces for the upcoming “Art In The Garden.” Her pieces made it through the bisque kiln. My bisqued “parts” are currently cooling in the kiln… and soon to be glazed!!!
Okay, so here’s an update…
My good friend Cory McCrory and I have decided to do a creative collaboration!
She’s a wonderful artist… full of whimsical imagery, colorful surfaces and beautiful textures. We’re both participating in the same art fair during the last weekend of August. So we thought it might be fun to do a project together just for this show!!!
Art In The Garden – Saturday, August 30th & Sunday, August 31st.
At the home… err, in the garden of our mutual friend & metalsmith Amy Taylor.
More details to come…
So… since this show has a garden theme of sorts, Cory & I decided to work together to make a limited edition of collaborative “garden” pieces. We’ve worked together to develop the plan. Brainstorming ideas. Working on the whimsy. Getting it all started. Cory has her pieces in the works & under wraps, and I’ve started to work on my part of the project tonight. Here’s a hint… with more to come…
