For today’s run, I strayed from my usual loop… heading north into Rogers Park and finding some more beautiful murals under the train tracks… like these wonderful birds under the bridge at Glenwood & Greenleaf.
I saw this on Banksy’s Instagram and just had to share! With all of us quarantined these days, what’s a famous “graffiti” street artist supposed to do?… except work at home!!!
His comment on Instagram…“My wife hates it when I work from home.”
Yesterday, my niece Taylor & sister Jen tackled a plain gray wall in their basement… with some painter’s tape and paint… and made this amazing mural on the wall of their new “office & art area.” Who knew that that chalk drawing was just the beginning! I love it… as these desperate times call for creative measures!
About a week or so ago… it’s all blurring together, right... my niece Taylor and her mom Jen (my sister) made a beautiful geometric chalk drawing on their driveway. Oh, how this quarantine time is making us all get a little more creative!
And the big questions was “how long will this last with rain coming tonight?”… and then we found out the next morning.
Answer is… better than expected!!!
What started as a beautiful TEXTURE TUESDAY…
quickly transformed into a wonderful surprise under the L tracks
during this afternoon’s bike ride!
Sure, the day may have been gray & gloomy… but it sure felt AMAZING to get outside to feel just a little “normal†during these tough times. And this bright & cheery mural on my way home was the perfect ending to a perfect run… err, walk-run combo?!
Gotta love a fun alley mural to brighten an otherwise grey & gloomy Friday… and just in case it gets any gloomier, they’ve already installed stringer lights to make the “alley gallery†even cooler!!!
Enjoying a stroll through the West side with a few colorful murals catching my eye… they always make me smile!!! Another mural. Another giggle.
Another photo category in the challenge!
Murals along the route in downtown Chicago.
And while most of the buildings are more classical…
you’ve got to appreciate those that aren’t!!!
