Looks like Kristy & Matt had a special Valentine’s Day last weekend… celebrating with sweet treats and some sweet pottery! Thanks for sharing your special day with all of us!

Following up with a little post-shovel “warm-me-up” cup of hot chocolate… complete with the requisite JUMBO MARSHMALLOW!!!

See?… I knew I liked shoveling for some strange reason!!!

In my Thursday morning pottery class, I did a little demo of my wheelthrown & handbuilt “combo” textured mugs. Well, they’re all assembled and I just dipped them in colored flashing slip. I didn’t want a bunch of crazy drips to run down onto the trimmed bottom… so I supported them upside-down on kiln posts until the slip set-up a bit.

And to quote a text from my friend Pammy…
“Your mug brightens my ho-hum day.”

Glad I could be there for her!!!

And while we’re struggling under another big blanket of snow here in Chicago… here’s a little Mugshot Monday shout-out from sunny Puerto Rico!!! That mug looks pretty happy hanging out in that exotic location!

More snow means more shoveling… which also means more hot chocolate!!! Which is really just the “vehicle” to get more marshmallows into my mouth!!!

Luckily, I have more in the kitchen… as pottery classes at Lillstreet have been cancelled for tonight & tomorrow morning due to the snowstorm!!!

Celebrating another MUGSHOT MONDAY with this stamped & soda-fired mug. One of my favorites… as I’m loving how the stamp covers a lot of the mug surface, and yet leaves a lot of the mug surface intact. Kinda like a stamped “fishnet” over the surface?!

Looks like one of my green stamped mugs is taking a little “vacation” at a nice exotic location?! Sure, it’s freezing cold here in Chicago… while this mug is relaxing in front of a cozy waterfall down in Georgia! Thanks for sharing your morning with us Angela!
