MAKING MORE MUGS!
Lots of stamping done… before I can trim & add handles tomorrow!
So I’ve been doing a little stamping today… making more mugs with a bunch more stamping!!! So I thought it might be fun to show-off the before & after… and the stamps that did most of the work!

So for now, they’re wrapped up under plastic… waiting to be trimmed & handled on another day!
After wheelthrowing the first couple days, my Summer Camp kids this week switched to handbuilding for the last two days. We all built slab mugs… lots of scoring & slipping… plus, they needed a “theme” that tied their two mugs together!
Looks like another “Breakfast Of Champions” up in Stevens Point this morning. Powdered sugar goodness… and I can only hope that it was filled with chocolate too!!! Thanks for sharing Kristy!
I “behaved” the whole weekend… until I saw Kenyon’s cups and I just had to have one!!! I think I must have touched them all at least twelve times… narrowing it down slowly… until I finally decided that THIS ONE was the one that “had to” come home with me! Crazy cool design, patterns, glazes & soda-fired effects. Well done Kenyon… and THANK YOU!!! It was great hanging with you guys all weekend in Sandwich!
Ready to make their big ART FAIR DEBUT… some of my newest RED soda-fired pieces. Yes, I will have a very limited quantity of some new RED pottery… stamped & soda-fired and looking for a new home!!! Several mugs, vases, flower pots & mini vases at the NORTHERN ILLINOIS POTTERY TOUR this weekend. There’s not a lot of them yet… so I think they might go fast?! I mean, that is if anyone even likes RED pottery???
Just in time for the NORTHERN ILLINOIS POTTERY TOUR!
Once again prepping, pricing & packing… another batch of soda-fired mugs ready for this weekend’s NORTHERN ILLINOIS POTTERY TOUR. I’ll be heading out to the Sandwich location of the tour at Cory McCrory’s studio.
Check out the website for addresses, maps & full details about all four stops along the way – www.northernilpotterytour.com
All glazed & kiln loaded… with some soon-to-be colorful mugs on the bottom layer! Now to get home to start prepping & packing for this weekend’s HINSDALE FINE ARTS FESTIVAL. It should be a beautiful weekend in Burlington Park in downtown Hinsdale… c’mon by!
Just a few more… a few more to glaze & a few more to load. Trying to glaze & load the kiln kinda at the same time. Hoping to get everything in so I can have the kiln fire & cool over the weekend. Just in time for THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS POTTERY TOUR next weekend June 11th & 12th.
