While today we should all be celebrating NATIONAL PUMPKIN DAY… I might be so bold as to say that I’m more of fan of the under-rated gourd! Better colors, groovy textures & whimsical shapes!!! Long live the gourd… and when do we get a National Gourd Day?!

It’s been a great “run” of fun this birthday weekend… all pun intended… with special THANKS to everyone for the great Birthday Wishes yesterday to help celebrate the big day! After a Sunday run with bananas & Gatorade… I much prefer yesterday with huge cookies & ice cream!!!

It’s getting spooky out there… as another “Ghouls Collection” is making its annual appearance out in the ‘burbs! My friend Chris has quite a collection of my Halloween Ghouls… but seems to be missing two of them! She apparently missed out on the Limited Edition twice?!

Can anyone guess which two Ghouls she’s missing?!!!

Well, it’s the second day of October and the “GHOULS” are coming out in full force! My friend Nancy has a great collection started… but she is missing a few of my Limited Edition Ghouls. But if you look closely, she’s also “filled it in” a bit more with a new Ghoul made by her daughter Lydia!!! So cute… and so glad that she’s now part of the ever-growing Ghouls Collection!

Fresh out of the soda kiln, these little cuties will be coming to ART IN THE GARDEN and ART IN THE BARN. Not really an “official” addition to The Ghouls Collection… but they would definitely fit right in! A new soda-fired version of my terra cotta classic pumpkins!

While making a bunch of “realistic” pumpkins for the soda kiln, I decided to make a few of the “ghouls collection” jack-o’lanterns for the soda kiln too! I’ve made these little pumpkins for years with terra cotta & underglaze. But this will be my first batch going into the soda kiln… fingers crossed that they’re as cute as the originals!

What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than sharing cotton candy with a friend?!
