Can’t say that I’m all that into Super Mario Bros. …

So… more sweet treats to share with my wheelthrowing class tonight!

While spending many of our Summer Camp lunches up on the Lillstreet Rooftop… it’s been fun watching the beekeeper take care of the rooftop bee hives. He’s been great & very informative with the kids. And some of the freshest homegrown honey is available at the Lillstreet Front Desk! YUMMY!!!

My contribution to the potluck party was “inspired” by Martin’s love of CORN!!! Since he used corn as a main ingredient in a couple of his bakes, I thought it was only fitting to make Cornbread Cupcakes with Cream Corn Buttercream Frosting! Sure, they might not of been the tastiest of treats… but I think I got huge bonus points for following the corny theme!!!

Oh, the pressure… how do you throw a party and make snacks to celebrate a TOP BAKER?!

Sure, our treats might be tasty… but nowhere near the fancy delicacies that Martin could make! But we tried our best… lots of treats… some “inspired” by the final four contestants of the show!

Well, it’s been over four months since THE GREAT AMERICAN BAKING SHOW started streaming for free on TheRokuChannel.com… and it seems like that’s been long enough. Just to refresh your memories… Martin, one of my pottery students, was one of the baking contestants!!! Tomorrow I will “reveal” the final results of the show! So be prepared… and don’t read the posts tomorrow if you want to be surprised. But seriously, you’ve had over four months to watch the show!

But last week… in my Tuesday class we “celebrated” our ongoing quest for OREOs with a package imported all the way from PORTUGAL!!! Thanks to my friend Pam who “smuggled” them back for us! Sure, I can’t read the labels in Portuguese… but I’m pretty sure it says “it lots, eat often”!!!

Last night in pottery class we had another version of our favorite OREOs… gluten-free! So they tasted a little “different” and maybe a little “chalky”???… but the double amount of filling made up for it! Thanks for bringing the treats Elena!

WE LOVE DOUBLE-STUFFED!!!

Time to toast some marshmallows! Today is NATIONAL S’MORES DAY!!! And you know how I love to “celebrate “ these holidays! But this time I mixed it up a bit… switching out the milk chocolate bar for a dark chocolate peanut butter cup. I “think” it was pretty good… I might need to “try it again” to really decide?!!

Yep… yummy, melty gooeyness!!!

So not only did we have “imported” OREO’s in class… we also had beautiful little OREO BOWLS for our mint OREO’s!!! One of my students made these cute little bowls with underglaze transfer patterns that were perfect for a single serving of OREO’s… or, you could refill it as many times as needed!!! Thanks for sharing your bowls Darcy!
