To kick-off April, I’ve decided to start my new Nutritious Raw Food Diet.
Not really sure how it works, but a lot of people swear by it.
And I’m all for giving it a valiant effort. I’m willing to take one for the team.

I just can’t get enough of this guy. And the song is pretty catchy too!

We had some “colorful” fun with my family & cousins from Minnesota doing some Easter egg coloring. Many were simple color dips… but I went for the “textured” grid effect using a rubber grippy pad & rubber bands! I happened to find the grippy grid things in the grocery aisle… darn those impromptu add-on sales items!

Worked well on the first one… so I ventured out into a two-toned world! With a band of rubber grid. Half dipped in yellow, and then half dipped in blue…  overlapping for green?!

Christopher was right there trying the new technique with great results… and focus!

A good time was had by all.
We ended with some colored fingertips and some very vibrant eggs!

Well, I still have some old clothes back from my previous life in Corporate America… so this might be a great opportunity to clean out the closet AND get some really cool Easter Eggs at the same time. Almost seems too cool to be true?!

Click here for the instructional video.

Then some creative wrapping of the egg with the “tie” squares. Tying them tight with strings.
The another layer wrapped with white fabric. Boil the bundled eggs… etc… then voila’…

The Easter Bunny will be hopping into town soon….

This movie looks pretty incredible. The style, the process, the visuals.
Apparently it’s the first time ever using this film-making process. Think of it as a stop-action, clay-mation type movie… but using individual oil paintings instead of clay?!!! Amazing… and slightly crazy, right? I’ll definitely be “Van Gogh-ing” to see this one! Would be great at the Drive-In under some beautiful Starry, Starry Night.

Amazing craftsmanship does it once again! So amazing to watch these fine craftsmen create these amazing printing blocks. From simple plank of wood carved with intricate repetitive patterns. All by hand. No machines. Just some simple tools and a plank of wood. Makes my hand-carved ceramic stamps look like child’s play!!

According to Alchemiya.com….
“Turning a plank of wood into an intricately carved printing block. A highly skilled practice filmed by the V&A Museum as part of their Fabric of India Exhibition.”

THESE DESIGNS ARE AMAZING!!!… and they’re cookies!!! Even better…
Can you just imaging what this artist could do with some liquid clay slip on some well-thrown pots??? Her slip-trailed pottery would be amazing!!!

According to the link on Colossal.com…
“Chef Judit Czinkné Poór is the mastermind behind Hungarian cake decorating shop Mézesmanna, a small studio with a giant social media presence because of the incredible photos and videos they share of their decorative confections. Nearly everything they produce falls into the ‘looks too good to eat’ category, from elaborate illustrations of animals, to intricate patterns inspired by embroidery. Seen here is a quick video of her ‘royal icing’ technique.”

UPDATE :
And then shortly after posting this originally,
I got an e-mail from a follower who just felt he had to share… and I’m glad he did!!

From Tim…
“I saw the same post you shared from Colossal on the cookie decorating people (who are fantastic) and decided to Google their work.  Found this gem and figured you would enjoy it!  Have a good weekend!”

Here’s a fun little color test to start your day. I killed it.

Click here to take the quick Color IQ Test.
And remember, you learned all of this in Grade School. Just sayin’…

And I love the “results” they gave me…

“You have an exceptionally high color IQ! Your vision is impeccable and you can more easily and quickly identify different shades and colors than the average person. You are a very visual learner, when something is put in front of you, you have photographic memory capabilities – you can easily store images in your brain and retrieve them later.

You think like a scientist, very precisely and logically, but you have immense creative talent as well, which is probably why you found the images in this test so captivating. You’re a color wizard!”

Of course, I agree whole-heartedly!!!
