A lot of leaves have already fallen… but I think I found one of the nicest red trees along the lake! Still hanging on… a monochromatic moment along the bike trail.

You gotta love the fantastic colors that magically appear
during the Autumn season.
Another beautiful afternoon bike ride. So happy that there are still Fall colors hanging onto some of the trees. And that late afternoon lighting just made them STUNNING!!! Sure… I should have been in the studio working… but c’mon… look at this!!!
How could I miss out? It will be gone all too soon!
And here’s the vase I threw last night as part of my marbled clay class demo… now trimmed & skinned to reveal the marbling better. Enamored by the three color combo, the layers & ripples. We decided in class that maybe this one should be soda-fired with no glaze on the outside just to see how the soda effects alter or enhance the marbled surface! That’s the plan!
What a difference one letter can make…
so today we’re also celebrating MUMSHOT MONDAY!!!
Again, with orange… my fave!!!
I’m a firm believer that generally gourds are cooler than pumpkins!
Great colors combinations, funky textures, groovy shapes & squiggly stems… even better when gathered & displayed in a handmade stamped bowl!!!
Another grey & dreary day in Chicago… so it’s always a welcome surprise to find a splash of color like this sumac bush in my front yard! Loving the range of colors and the natural overlapped textures created by jagged leaves!
Cloudy all morning, so I waited to ride my bike for the sun to come out later this afternoon. But with it came the WIND!!! So windy… so gusty… it might have been the “funnest” & funniest ride I’ve had for a long time. The wind was swirling everywhere… from the left side, right side, back side, front side! Blowing leaves off the trees sweeping across the path. Debris flying. Feeling like you might literally get blown over!!!
So much fun… but a bit sad watching the color on the trees literally blow away on what might be one of the last beautiful days of Fall… mwah, mwah, mwah….
Sure, I could have left this bowl with the simple ombre colors gradating from blue to orange… but MORE IS MORE, right?! So I decided to do a little carving through the colored slip with my DiamondCore Tools instead!
Huh?… who knew that I would “match” my bowl so well today?! A couple colored slips from last week’s class demo… and an ice-dyed shirt from quarantine… finally get to meet!
