This morning was definitely a “treat” with candy-colored calico skies. Sure, it started out incredibly dark… and windy… but the “trick” got better as the sun came up and it turned into a tailwind all the way home!!!

Let the games begin… tonight!!!
GO CUBS GO!!!

And now I’m wondering how many (if any) of my pottery students
will show up for class tonight???

This morning was my first time back on the bike post-triathlon. Felt good to pedal out some of the kinks. Too bad there was no hope for a sunrise today! And a few “missing” buildings down on the skyline.

A cloudy morning ride past Belmont Harbor. By the time I got downtown, some of the buildings were truncated by low-flying clouds. Luckily, a little sun tried to find its way through the clouds… but to no avail.

Big sky show this morning. Incredible colors sweeping across the horizon all along the Lakefront. It only lasted a few minutes… but each one was better than the last.

A clear morning along the lake. A bit chilly after yesterday’s storms. Crisp & clear. Nice to get out on the lakefront bike trail before the crowds arrive for the Chicago Air & Water Show later this morning.

Big sky drama means big photo fun… barely before the rain clouds moved in!!!

According to my friend Pam, some morning coffee in a handmade mug makes your commute so much better!

The theme of this week’s Summer Camp is “Sculptures Small to Big.”
So what better place to get some inspiration than the Art Institute of Chicago?!
My campers went on a fun field trip for a splash of art inspiration & education
at the museum and Millennium Park. Starting with some visual fun at The Bean…

“Cloudgate” by Anish Kapoor.

Then it was time to go to the Art Institute of Chicago. Filled with inspiration for the kids.

We toured the museum and made frequent stops for the kids to sketch.
